  • i want my dog to be with me for that kind of a long time.

my dog really looks like yours. and shes a japanese spitz.

  • Did your American Eskimo shed a lot of hair? Im intrested in buying one.

  • @MeAlito211 yes they shed all year round >.<

  • I have never seen one of these dogs...I did not know they existed. Wow! Duke was sprite at 17 years old . Amazing!

  • what kind of dental surgery?

  • He had several rotten teeth that traveled into the bone area. We lost Duke to old age late last summer. He is still with us in spirit :)

  • i have a 10 year old eskie - still as insane as ever!

  • Thank you for sharing this. Those of us that have Eskies want them to live forever because we will love them forever. :-)

  • RIP Sweet Duke. Tink, Buster & Clive will take good care of you at the Rainbow Bridge -- or vice versa!! :)

  • My Nikki lived 18 years old. I adopted her when I was in college and I loved that precious Eskie. Now I have another Eskie. They are the best dogs in the entire world!

  • Would one be able to get an Eskie at a shelter like the SPCA? Just wondering.

  • I got my current Eskimo from a local shelter, and my Keeshond from a keeshond rescue. I know there are Eskimo rescue sites on the web.

  • 17 years old?!?! Wow!! I have an American Eskimo too and he's 14. This makes me glad to see they can live that long! Aren't they the best dogs? I love mine to death. (Plus, I love the music that goes along with the 'afternoon stroll' xD)

  • Eskies age exceptionally well! No gray hairs, long lived. My girl is seven or eight years old (I'm not sure how much because I adopted her). I hope she lives to be at least 20!

  • Holy cow..... my bf has an american eskimo and he is 12 and he is energetic as can be ! ! !

  • wow hes getting around good for being 17!!

  • I have an eskie, she came into my life 14 years ago as a little ball of white fuzz. Eskies are truly a wonderful breed. Glad to hear they have a rescue of their own.

  • I always worried about my dog 'Bear'(should something of happened to me). He had all the tude an eskie could have & maybe more! I never knew of rescues like Stacie and Perry run. Cancer took my baby, but thank God for people like these that take the babies that get left behind or abused! Hopefully, I am going to have another furbaby of my own soon to put a little 'spark' back into my life.

  • OMFG SO CUTE

  • wow Duke looks real happy! =]
