This brings me back to Jr. High in the early 70's. Lived in a small town of 10,000 in Southern Minnesota. Every Friday & Saturday night saw 100's & 100's of kids invading downtown, hitting the pool hall, the youth center, the 3.2 bar, lining the streets, making out, smoking, toking, drinking, dropping lsd & mesc. Life was so much different then. Even the cops were laid-back. Seems like a dream now.
AND DAN BAIRD LOOKED THE SAME WAY YET I WAS THINKING I'VE SEEN THAT LOOK LONG AGO..... BINGO!!!! T REX! WE ALL MISS YOUR VERSION MUCH MR. MATC BOLAN RIP TO ONE OF THE GREATEST!!!
What I find funny about this album, if I leave it playing when I go to sleep, I get through the whole thing and I'm more awake than ever. If I play any other album by a different artist I'm asleep after about 4 tracks.
T-Rex is one of those bands I LOVE, that I forget about for awhile, and when I rediscover them again, they make me wonder how I lived without their glam, sexy, slow, dirty grooves =) Mark Bolan is one of rocks underrated geniuses.

Bolan died on 16 September 1977, two weeks before his 30th birthday.[5][6] He was a passenger in a purple Mini 1275GT driven by Gloria Jones as they headed home from Mortons drinking club in Berkeley Square. Jones lost control of the car and it struck a sycamore tree after failing to negotiate a small humpback bridge near Gipsy Lane on Queens Ride, Barnes, southwest London.[5] Bolan died instantly, while Jones suffered a broken arm and broken jaw and spent time in hospital;
she did not learn of Bolan's death until the day of his funeral. Bolan's home, which was less than a mile away at 142 Upper Richmond Road West in East Sheen, was quickly looted. I am not a groupie by any means. I'm most definately a fan - this is my favourite song of all time. Of any band. And my band "selection" is of the elite. His poster is framed in top hour in my home. Mick Jagger is sooo on top of my list but nothing he does surpasses this.

I've always liked this album better than Electric Warrior. I find it to be both darker and grittier.
