There are two ways to unlcok them: PICHU 1)play 200 vs. matches 2)beat event 37 MEWTWO 1)play 700 vs. mtaches 2)play vs mode so your vs mode time TOTAL is 20 hours.(ex: 5 hours one day. 10 the next, etc.) GANONDORF(correct spelling) 1)play 600 vs matches 2)beat event 29 One you complete one of the two ways, they should challenge you to a battle. Defeat them to unlock them.

ganondarf never uses his sword. not sure if you can cheat to make him use it but as far as i know he never uses it.
