1) When I made this, I was 9. NINE YEARS OLD. I didn't know any better but I was still damn smart enough to code an GUI and some Visual Basic.

2) I am now 12 years old, and I know that an operating system needs the bootloader and the kernel and the other crap.

3) THIS IS NOT A FUCKING OS IF IT RUNS ON TOP OF ANOTHER OS!! I know, you don't have to fucking scream it.

Checkout ffmpeg for screen recording and transcoding too,

Nah, this might not be a proper OS, but it's a good start for an alternate user interface. It reminds me of Apple's AtEase software of the old Mac 7 OS.

I don't know the specifics, but I believe Wal-Mart uses a similar UI for their in-store application computers. Theres is a bit more advanced, but the same idea.

Will this work with the PowerPoint Viewer? If so, once you got some of it polished up a little more, it'd make a great piece of software for computer un-users.

@jdenslinger No, the software will not work with PowerPoint viewer. It doesn't support macros. But the software has been polished up ALOT. I've been working on it for 2-3 years and it now supports custom themes.

1st of all, if this boy becomes advanced enough, he can do at least half of that.

He can make it add to registry on initiation. He could make a setup file? That setup file streams the actual exe from a ftp, then adds it to the registry.

Congratulations for your programming skills, however I suggest you to leave Microsoft and Visual Basic and start coding in C++ or JAVA if you really want to achieve something awesome. Anyways your "OS" will fail at games, because Visual Basic is way too slow in performance. Your system created separate windows for applications, which means it completely depends on Windows and is coded using Windows libraries, so you couldn't call it an OS at all...

WebBrowser Control is on the Control Toolbar, on the very last button. It will show a list, scroll down and pick Microsoft Web Browser. You will need Windows XP or greater for the WebBrowser.
