Blitzkrieg works well against countries that are about the same size or smaller than the attacking country, but using that tactic against the largest country of the world isn't a good idea. When they attacked Soviet union, they should have used older tactics from previous wars.

If Germany beat the USSR it would be impossible to mass the majority of their forces in France because of occuping practically all of Europe and eastern USSR. WIth the help of partisans and since the germans would have been stretched thin, the western allies would have an easy time liberating and dethroning the USSR.

Americas the Marshall plan rebuilt Germany with the hard work of the survivors.

A huge country of peasants in several decades had excellent literacy rates, stable living and nutirition for the entirety of the populace. The means were awfull, but the results are undeniable, and something the Tsars would not have achieved.

Then the western allies could have come in and beat the Nazis after a longer war fighting in eastern europe. Russia then could have been a democratic nation and there would have been peace in the world instead of a cold war.

@TheRussian1 Germany had a strong French presence but were still defeated in d-day. If Germany beat the USSR it would be impossible to mass the majority of their forces in France because of occuping practically all of Europe and eastern USSR. The Allies could then invade anywhere they wanted (France, Yugoslavia, or even the Caucasus). WIth the help of partisans and since the germans would have been stretched thin, the western allies would have an easy time liberating and dethroning the USSR.

British ignorance of India agricultural demand cost a lot of lives. But a lot of Indians still volunteered. You will see that volunteers for the empire came from Africa, India, Asia, etc, not just the dominions.

@rfmcorporation While both goverments were cruel, the death toll, a year at a time at least, was massively bigger in the Concentration/death camps in germany, then in the gulag. for example, During the war, the death toll(in the gulag) 1941-43, was a little more than half a million. But this was because of starvation, and it was because most of the food was going to the war effort. This was the gulag at its worst. How can you compare the two? In the 6 years the death camps were in operation,
