  • The main problem with the United States and it's citizens is not college or jobs, the problem is debt. America borrows for everything, school, homes, cars, furniture, everything!!!!! This obsession with borrowing and debt must stop!!! Why? Because of the global economy called GLOBALISM!!!! The only way America will have a chance to compete in the global economy is to get out of debt and stay out of debt.

  • @JohnD2095

america is a debt-slave society. They borrow and get enslaved. Thats the whole point of college, to enslave the masses to their student loan debt.

  • I agree with everything here except the colleges being more affordable, that's the exact opposite of what's happening.

  • I agree also, that it may make more sense to go to a Vocational school and get a skill in a particular field, rather than a degree that says,, yeah, I can cram and remember something long enough to pass a test to get ur name on a certificate.

  • A degree is ok, but now its how you present yourself and that degree that counts. the degree itself doesnt gaurentee anything! you still have to sell yourself! its like a cell phone company offering more minutes on a plan to offer an edge on sales, but now, ALL cell phone companies re offering the same, and the previous company doesnt have the edge anymore. A new game plan is needed!

  • only idiots go to college -- you come out indebted and stupid -- laugh at tradesmen and construction workers all you want -- today they make the bank, while the 9-5 college grad sheep barley makes anough to scrape by -- sorry, the tables were turned -- back in the day they laught at me for not going to college- today they ask me to borrow money and envy my lifestyle -- nothing in this world is free, 4 years of vacation in college is not without consequence -- welcome to slavery...

  • @sunshine34ification some jobs need college, I'm doing 2years because i want to be nypd

  • @fatprick44

you dont need college to be a cop, 15 years ago you just needed to be "18" to be nypd. Think twice... talk to nypd FIRST, dont 'hope' it works out in the end.. PS be a good cop not a bad one

  • @sunshine34ification The 4 year college vacation was pretty nice though. lol I got to sleep a little more.

  • @IIhauzz

Yeah but AFTER college how much do you sleep? 9-5 .. lol not much sleep there.. I didnt go to college and I sleep ALOT now :)

  • @sunshine34ification Yeah. Im going to community college right now. Thank God im not in too mich debt maybe around 2,500. But I tell ya what. This shit is bad for my brain man. General education is just cramming information down my throat that I dont even want or need to know. They force you to take classes that re useless. WHY? Becuase they can make money off of you. College sucks terribly. I forget everything I learn becuse it holds no value in the real world. Welcome to the NWO

  • @HiGhLiKeAlLaDin

DROP OUT! why the FUCK are you going to college if you KNOW its a scam! dont bee a sucker!! Youll bee sorry later!! youtube "college is for morans"

  • @sunshine34ification Sometimes you feel like you can "scam the scam" if you know what I mean. It is detrimental to my well-bieng. Im taking a one foot in one foot out approach and am currently exploring other avenues.

  • @HiGhLiKeAlLaDin

drop out now bee-fore its too late! I warned ya!

  • They could move back in with their parents to save up money so they could move to another country

  • waste of money and time

  • I have one question,How in The Blue Hell is College more affordable today when students have to take out loans to go?????Does that make ANY sense??????

  • I got a degree in Sociology in the early 80s and it was worthless. I went back to a community college and got a Bachelors in Computer Science and have never had trouble getting a job since. I had to learn the hard way. My heart goes out to someone who is conned into thinking that a degree in underwater basket weaving will guarantee them a job. You have to pick your major carefully, don't party while there, and save money by attending a good community college.

  • @1970ES335 Well you had a talent in computer science and math; not everyone understands that level of math.

  • @1970ES335 I have a similar story to tell: I have a (useless) Masters degree in pedagogy/education science, but never worked in that field due to lack of job opportunities. I will get some further education in accountancy now, because this is the actual job I am paying my bills with.

  • With a liberal arts major, you can be a trophy wife, that is about it

  • You have to spend tens or even hundreds of thousands dollars simply to get a job that could be worked by a high school grad with a few weeks or months worth of job training.

  • how is it he is having a problem becoming a bio teacher?

  • These young people think the world owes them a living. have a college degree and can't find a cushy well paid job, but I bet they have sure I Phones and IPads.

Welcome to the real wolld folks!!!

  • 3:01 NETWORK

  • I earned only a Bachelors degree but I'm not going to put myself in further debt with some expensive Masters degree. I really should have listened to myself long ago when I told my family I'm not going to college. I told them I want to be a plumber, oh well.

  • @DaMostEnigmatic You blame your family for your own adult decisions?

  • @movcrit no, I never said I blame them, I take responsibility. Stop instigating shit.

  • @DaMostEnigmatic Sorry, but your comment seem to point that way which is why I asked the question.

  • @movcrit well in my comment I never blamed them or mentioned that "it's their fault", I was simply mentioning to them how it was one of my career choices as a kid and that I should have listened to myself.

  • @movcrit Absolutley, I blame my parents for forcing me to prepare to go to college. I got a BA in economics, a BS in chemical engineering, and a law degree. I was misled throughout my life about the value of a college degree. I joked that I would go to the local community college and double major in refrigeration repair and quantum mechanics.Who would have thought that the former would be much more useful than the latter? College prep in high school only serves to quash studying a useful trade

  • @penisinzipper Can you build a quantum refrigerator now?

  • 2:29: "Schools have become more affordable." Huh?

  • @SimperingSimpleton Compared to 40 or 50 years ago, yes more kids can afford to go to college. back then mostly the upper class folks would send there kids to school, but now days the middle class can likely afford it too. It's still very expensive, but that's not what that specific line is saying. With financial aide, scholarships, and student loans a lot more people can attend college now days. Especially with things like technical schools, more people than ever are getting degrees...

  • @hooker237 Students loans make it easier for people to get degrees but I wouldn't say that they make college more "affordable." (In fact, student loans lead to tuition increases.) Students can't really "afford" to take on all that debt, whether or not they know it at the time and much to their regret later on.

  • @SimperingSimpleton You are misinterpreting the line... College is extremely expensive, I'm saying it's affordable for more people than 30, 40, or 50 years ago. College is more reachable to the average person now than back then... That's all that line is trying to say. Remember this is video is talking negatively about college, so I don't know why you are arguing if we agree.

  • @hooker237 This is simply incorrect. My parents both went to college without taking debt. They worked part time jobs and paid their tuition outright, not high paying jobs either. This is impossible today.

  • @aaronbassplyr Good for them, so did my parents! But there was no such thing as Ivy Tech back then, today almost anybody can go to college on some level. They will loan you any amount of money you ask them for.... Once again, you guys are picking at one line of the video, the point of the video is that a college degree isn't worth as much as it used to be, and it will not guarantee you a job after you graduate TODAY not back then.

  • @aaronbassplyr

I fully agree with you. People think that college is more affordable because of the financial aid programs that are available today. Yes, there are more grants, scholarships, and college loans today compared to 30 years ago. But, because of the high tuition costs, these financial programs are not enough. These financial aid programs create the DELUSION that college is more affordable in today’s time.

  • @HolyVegeta

Also, College today requires a number of 'core classes' in order to receive one's degree. These requirements were less strict decades ago. For example; college back then might require that you take 1 to 2 classes of foreign language. Where, today you are required to take 2 to 4 foreign languages classes.

  • @HolyVegeta

Let’s say that the average cost of an in-state 12 hour semester is $2,400. (This does not include dorm, food and book costs) One semester would equal 4 classes on a foreign language. So, that is $2,400 that you are spending to learn a language that you most likely will not need later in your life. Unless your major is in international studies.

  • @HolyVegeta I know what you mean, Years ago, I heard,, GET A DEGREE,, doesnt matter in what, just get a degree, due to the fact, that employers were going to train you anyways, and what mattered, is, that you were willing and able to learn.

  • @HolyVegeta

That's just one subject. Decades ago you couldn't take courses in Tupac Shakur, you had learn real material.

  • @HolyVegeta Colleges are being ran by fast talking sales people with one objective, to capture the Fed monies the rest is up to you in terms of what you do with it. The high demand degrees are extremely expensive in many highly competitive fields that require in many cases an investment in your time as an intern.

  • @hooker237 Wrong on all accounts, my father went to college back in the 70s and he was very poor. He had a job on the side and was able to pay for his entire college degree with a job. You cant do that now.

  • @hooker237 I agree, A degree used to make a person stand out, but now, EVERYONE has a degree, and .... just like in ebay, they upped the amount of characters you can use in a description to up your search success for selling, BUT everyone has that ability now, so, no one person has the advantage in ebay.

  • @SimperingSimpleton Student loans have become more available for many the costs have risen based on this fact. Many of the schools are capitalizing on this to include the technology and vocational skilled schools are taking advantage of this. The B rated colleges have succeeded in cheapening the value of a Bachelors degree based on the low caliber of the people graduating. You also have many unskilled hiring managers in the job markets that really don't value a degree today.

  • good job on the video! =)
