  • Comment removed

  • We are all made to love ;)

  • Pure Genius

  • I am honestly blown away every time I hear this song, simply by the fact that he was only 17 when he recorded it!!!! Stevie must be from another planet or something.

  • 39 people need Her Love......

  • I was given the opportunity to see Stevie in concert a few years ago. I was floor ,center, 11 rows back. It was the most incredible concert. He is a gifted man with a gifted heart.

  • That BASS line was the best I've ever heard!

  • The genius of the black is forever written in his music and soul

  • 39 people weren't made to love her!

  • Guys, listen to the bass lines in this song. It makes the song...

  • @Buddybigone James Jamerson did the base track on this....chilling!!

  • @Buddybigone Correction...bass.

  • And only 17 when he performed this fabulous song, can you believe it ?!

  • one of the WONDERful arrangements that shaped my childhood...thanks Stevie

  • amen

  • Stevie's writing skills together with his voice and instrumental talents make him a very unique talent we will only see once in 2-3 generations. He is truly 1 in a billion....and that's an understatement!!

  • You know you should keep listening to songs by Stevie Wonder when all the recommended videos on the right are by Stevie Wonder.

  • Stevie Wonder is great and a major contributor to the greatest music of alltime, in the 60s.

  • Brings back great memories. Where are they now. ?

  • I don't care what you say. Stevie's GREATEST work!!!

  • we always had radios in the 1960s, mobile transistors, house headphones. i have studied many thousands of songs, every type and place. "pop" music has ancient tools in it (minor to major crescendo, emotional sequencing, hypnotics, depressors). i learned by decades of study of millions of documents that it was a secret religious war, game of remote weapons, in synchrony with electronic subliminal mind control. some obsessed, some took death to escape the attack. - james mcashan for the US Senate

  • @jamesmcashan1 I like tin foil too!

  • IM YOUNG BUT GOOD MUSIC IS GOOD MUSIC

  • @Jizboi Agreed! =)

  • 39 people hate both James Jamerson and Carol Kaye Seriously??

  • Class

  • Stevie at his best .... pure magic.

  • I was made to love this song

  • @ouchyg Me too!!! :-)

  • Thanks so much for posting this, sometimes his earlier work doesn't get the attention it deserves.

  • Stevie is one of THE most beautiful musicians EVER.

  • Carol Kaye did not play on this cut. Its easy to tell just by tone thats its James! no doubt. But I will say Carol did play on a lot of motown tunes, but the white versions of the tunes. Berry knew that White audiences wouldnt let their kids buy these records, so they would issues albums with just instrumentals with other people playing on them.

  • Nice title at the end of the video - "I Was Made To Lover Her"

  • BASS IN YOUR FACE!!

  • Stevie Wonder is proof positive there is a Higher Power out there.

  • DROP SW. can you believe it? someone (BG???), had the thought of dropping SW from the motown roster. DROP SW. the mere thought, even in his LITTLE days, was LUDICROUS.

  • Yes James Jamerson was great but I'm pretty sure Carole Kaye was the bassist on this cut

  • @BenEvolencetto She was... check out her FaceBook page (Carol Kaye ll). She posted some extensive comments about her bass part on this tune on 11/30/2011.

  • @Frabffib -yes I actually asked her on her FB page yesterday and she affirmed it. I will check out the additional comments on 11/30. I did see on her website in the FAQ area that there was much controversy over the credits on alot of Motown songs.

  • @BenEvolencetto This has been heavily debated - Carol is the only one who says she's on the track. Many other people who were there say she is NOT on the track.

  • An incredible song written by inspired musicians and sung by a legend. But just listen to that bassist! Purity in music!

  • Totally sick bassline by the marvelous James Jamerson....classic!!!!!

  • A great old Stevie favorite! I used to bop to Jr. High School to this tune! Love it!!!

  • J Jamerson

    Stevie W

  • The "exploding" bass line on this song by Stevie, is just so incredibly good! Great Work Funk Brothers!

  • Ohhhh, this brings back soooo many great memories! Stevie was/is awesome wasn't/isn't he? Love all his music!!!!

  • Carol, I always used to listen to guitar parts when I was thinking about music and listening to figure it out, rather than enjoying listening and feeling a tune physically and emotionally. I didn't focus specifically on the bass lines too often other than as one element of the rhythm section's 'thing'. You have changed that, because your playing is cool and charismatic and just draws in my ears. Thank you.

  • @clever072004; RIGHT! Best bass line ever!

  • This is where Jason Kay (from Jamiroquai) comes from!

  • 38 people weren't made for love

  • I'm a Yung'N but I'm feeling this old shit....wuhts good Stevie!?!?

  • July 1967. #2. Light My Fire was #1. I can still hear it coming out of my little transistor radio that summer.

  • @vcoaster Both AWESOME songs!!! As a 19 year old, I can hear them both blast out of MY stereo NOW!!

  • YES, YOU WERE!!!

  • STEVIE AND JAMES JAMESON EPIC!!!

  • Damn, James Jamerson is the MAN!!!!!!!!

  • EVERYONE.....STFU AND JUST LISTEN......TIMELESS

  • EVERYONE.....STFU AND JUST LISTEN......

  • I would have love to have been at Motown to watch this being recorded.

  • @mark90361 And was best in the 60s.

  • @mark90361 American music was pretty darn good at this time, I agree... but I also think we'd be missing out on a heck of a lot if it weren't for the British Invasion of the sixties/seventies/eighties.

  • Comment removed

  • @mark90361 You sound remarkably mature for someone commenting on a YouTube video! :P

  • @Honeydew7396 Thank you for saying that. It just that I appreciate being able to hear this music again, and I have always appreciated straight up people. When I see that I'm wrong, I can fix it. So thanks again.

  • @mark90361 Only an asshole would make a comment like that! If I could be bothered I could list some of the shit you have given the world of music. Stevie Wonder is a class act tho.

  • STEVIE WONDER is mah LOVe and imm 12 o;<

  • if he could see he wouldnt be able to sing, its the cold truth guys

  • @enigma3500 in what way is that true ? you're just trying to be funny and it's not working

  • @enigma3500 i smell just a tad bit of envy.......it's ok...we understand.

  • @enigma3500 lets not make fun of those who are blessed with talent out of jelousy

and im sure if you had refrained from the vulgar vocabulary you would be taken much more seriously.

  • @enigma3500 Your comments are disgusting

  • I absolutely love this song. I remember listening to an oldies station with my mom when I was a little girl. The good ol' days. :) :) :)

  • Everytime I listen to a Stevie Wonder song I fall more and more in love with his music. He is timeless, and wonderful. He is simply the best there is and the best there ever will be.

  • Listen to that Bass lines by Mr Jamerson...!

  • @clever072004 horrifying.

  • Glad to say that I got to see him live, I can officially rest in peace.

  • MOTOWN....FOR LIFE...... XXXX

  • This song will always takes my mind back to a happier different time when Motown was tops & their was no rap music even thought of or heard anywhere.

  • @welder541 Music is reflective of how people are mentally and socially. Correct me if Im wrong (as if I need to say that) but this is how I see it; aggressive Rap music exists partly because some artists are portraying how tough life and their society is to survive within. Society is so wrecked in some areas that aggression is their only method of survival.

  • @123jsbach Makes sense to me. Thanks!!! I guess i'm just really miss'in my old motown sound from the 60's more an anything. My kids & grandkids love the rap, but i just can't get into it. I've tried. Have a good day!!!

  • @welder541 Cool! You too! ;)

  • @123jsbach great reply

  • @Spec0pleader cheers mate! ;)

  • @123jsbach np :)

  • When I listen his music, it makes me think his loss of sight heightened his sense of hearing, hence this innate ability to produce/compose such brilliant chords and keys on every track he has ever written for himself and for others.

  • What a song!

  • great awesome allways

  • I had the pleasure of a "handshake" from Stevie Wonder......the best ever - caring as if he knew who I was through feeling my hand......

Bunny Gibson - American Bandstand Regular - Philly dancer

  • Does anybody know who played the bass in this song?

    It is excellent.

  • @MrMarty5555 James Jamerson

  • Stevie Iza G:)

  • And Im still made to love the Queens of Asia! BX

  • I was about 4 years old when this song came out and it was my first reality that there was such a thing called "romantic love". Stevie made me understand it at 4 years old. It was my favorite song then and my favorite song now.

  • BASS.

  • this is absolute Motown; that Motown that you can dig your toes in

  • Bass line on this was sick

  • One of my favorite artists of all time. Hope people appreciate him for what he's worth. He's one of the last great musicians left. Most of the others have passed away.

  • Fantastic dancing music from the 60s. Thanks for posting it.

  • Best Stevie tune,,,so underrated.

  • Amazing....what can I say! sit back, crank it up, enjoy. Thanks Stevie for your awesome music.

  • GREATEST recording artist of all time.

  • awesome

  • I love this song because when I listen to it all I can see is my girl. This is one of those songs I wish could just go on and on. Best 2:38 min. I spent today ( multiplied by the 15 times i heard it. HA!).

  • @lorddreams469 lol, last time im listening to it... ok just one more...

  • I have never felt comfortable debating the value of the gifts we all receive from our Heavenly Father, but I think this man may be the most talented person ever to grace this world

  • @DaddySez

His talent is such that when you hear him, there's just no one better. But then later you hear Al Green, or "Praise"--Marvin Gaye, (I could go on) and you can't breathe.

And Take 6! Oh, good grief!

  • @DaddySez

  • @DaddySez Whats the point in living if you don't weigh up the good and the bad? You might as well be in your coffin otherwise! I agree-Stevie Wonder is an inspiration in life and his music ;)

  • @DaddySez - absolutely right!

  • @DaddySez Newton... Einstein... Da Vinci..., but if you want to talk music... Beethoven, Bach, etc...

  • @Hearts64 Just because they came first, or did the most complicated harmonies/melodies/arrangements doesn't mean they're the most talented. There's a lot of immeasurable talent - the kind that allows an artist to stir our deepest emotions. I like classical music, but Stevie stirs more emotion in me than Beethoven or Bach ever will.

  • @DaddySez Are you a mormon? just asking because we use that Heavenly Father expression :)

Anyways, you're right, he himself was a gift from the nature :)

  • @BiaHSM ....actually, I dont have any religious affiliation....just believe in God

  • @DaddySez Micheal Jackson is a close second...

  • @Saibot00 @DaddySez Marvin Gaye is right there with them.

  • @DaddySez It's a tie between Stevie and MJ...musical geniuses

  • @moan01 - You ain't NEVAH lied! SICK, SICK, WICKED SICK - he late 60's/early 70's arguably produced the greatest music EVERRRRRR. Peace, peoples

  • Whoa! This is one great song even after all these years! Love little Stevie Wonder!

  • one of my all time favourite stevie tracks.

  • i think this ranks right up there as being one of my all-time favorites.

  • my favorite motown hit from Stevie, very underrated hit!

  • Another #1 hit for Stevie Wonder on the Rhythm & Blues charts. It was the 160th #1 R&B song of the Rock Era. It also hit #2 on the Top 40 charts. Why don't today's artists make this kind of music today?

  • JAMES JAMERSON - PERIOD - THUMBS UP

  • yeah, and Prince is heavy influenced by Steve yo... and by Ray too, and so many others. I gotta believe that Stevie stood for something that simply don't exist in current generations. Sad.
