It's not moonwalk, it's hard to explain. He was walking towards then edge and changed directions quickly (which you usually do by wavedashing for this reason) so he slid in the direction he was moving but facing the opposite direction. It's just a very short slide especially with a fast faller, and it is hard to do

Please. Look at the crazy way good players move about, dash-dancing, wavedashing, etc. Look at Marth's ridiculous hitboxes, Falco's short hop laser exploit, Fox's waveshining, IC's chaingrab. I highly doubt Sakurai expected it to be played like this... hence slug-tastic, limited brawl following up. I'd say melee qualifies as broken, but it's FAR deeper as a result... the very opposite of 'degenerate'.

btw, melee is probably my number 1 game of all time so chill, I'm not trying to insult it.

Sorry but I think any exploits in melee are completely dwarfed by brawl's. Infinite cape glitch? One grab = one stock with ice climbers? Half the cast having chain grabs? Bucket braking?

I wouldn't say that marth has an effective chaingrab. It takes so much time, doesn't do a lot of damage, and he has attacks that could do that damage quicker than just slowly building it. Plus, a good player can break it at 30%

I beg to differ, soly because marth has a hard time starting combos at low % on falco below 30%. chaingrabbing just enables you to be able to start to attempt to combo your opponent. I find a lot of falco's are smart to these tactics and avoid grabs particularly well, as well as preventing marth from getting to them with a grab or air attack. Pillaring just makes it worse to try to seize offense. Of course if you already have the momentum you should seize these opportunities.
