It's so small. Could you - or someone else - explain how it doesn't cause any trouble when editing a big-sized picture displayed over your whole screen?
this helped me so much. im searching for a great, mac accessible, size convenient and sleek looking tablet to buy at an affordable price, and you practically eased all my worries on this one product in the span of 4 and a half minutes! only thing i really needed to know was how small it really is, but in this case, i could care less. i now have decided on my very first tablet model!:)
I agree with SpareKey, but just one thing: slow down :) you know how and what to do but I feel you were slightly rushing it especially at the start, an that may have been nerves or something but the review was GREAT!
excellent review. this item is on my acquire list .i like that ring feature. right now i have to turn huge pieces of illustration board to get to the far reaches of my work surface...it is unweildly, and time consuming, with a high probabilty of knocking things over like ink, water, coffee, etc.plus the more you drag around a huge illustration on a drawing board, the bigger the chace it will get dinged up.the intuos 4 looks like a winner .
The more pressure senstivity you have, the better. I'd say if you're getting a bamboo for the first time, go for a Fun so you can get used to using a pen tablet. I'm upgrading to the intuos (you can choose from different kinds of pens and nibs.) Just remember that you use the pen gently or else there will be excessive nib wear. Just do some more research to be safe. :) I prefer the intuos, but it's your call. Hope I helped some!
Omfg, you didn't spend 45 seconds on showing how its left hand capable, you didn't spend a minute zooming in on the frkn buttons, you didn't spend 2 minutes zooming in and out to show the tablet better... instead you state every spec availaible QUICKLY without mumbling.
This is one of the best reviews I've seen and you're a quarter the age of the competition.
@djwaglmuffin The small is missing the LED display, which is about the only hardware diference other then sheer size, though it comes in handy I guess. But the overall size is noticably smaller then medium. If I'm not mistaken, its a 50 buck diference. It's definitely worth it...
Congratulations! Excellent, well informed review and highly articulate too. I just ordered the tablet but seeing your review I'm actually even happier for my purchase. Keep up your great work and best wishes for your future endeavors, kid - you deserve it! :D
Really!? Are you sure you don't already work for WACOM? Excellent job kid! You held your own exceedingly well in this review! Not to mention, you've convinced me that the product is worth looking into. Thanks for the great review!
Dude learn how to hold a pen and then learn how to give good reviews. Seriously you give it a 9 out of 10 just because the glossy side gathers prints? That's the dumbest excuse I have ever heard.
I will buy a wacom tablet soon and I want to know if when you draw, the lines appear on your screen a little bit later . (some milliseconds ) or in real time. Please answer :)
i really appreicate your choice of words in this review...like "pazazz." you make yourself sound so professional and well educated about this product. good job! :)
I have been asking adults about the Wacom tablets and how they work and if I really needed one for Photoshop CS5 or not. I got more answers watching your video than anyone else has been able to give me. It made me decide to get this one, at least 99% sure. I think we need more young people like you. I was very impressed with the information and how you delivered it. Not sure if you get all these comments but if you were using it just for photography like CS5, Elements would you still get it?
Wow. You make quite a contrast from all the usual stupid American kids who do nothing but play call of duty and talk shit on youtube. In fact you sound smarter than about 85% of the kids at my high school. I wish there were more like you.
I'd have to say I'm impressed with your professionalism on this review! It's not often to see someone your age post a tech review where at least you seemed like you rehearsed it. Just a tip real fast, the price of the small is down to 199 at the moment, and the tooltip at the beginning says 229. Just wanted to inform you incase you didn't notice. Keep up the good work!
help!!! i badly scratched my intuos4 small. i did a small research on the web, and realized that i can peel the "active / grey " area off and replace it with a new one. Is that correct? it doesnt seem to be an area that can be peeled off.......any advice would be helpful. thank u ..
@moisepom From what i heard you can contact wacom and tell them your issue and i think they all have a 2 year warranty deal so they should send you a new one. possibly
Excellent review! you know i'm not to fond of kids reviewing tech because of how they review it (in a sloppy way, not getting to the point) But you sir did an outstanding job!
Are you an artists by chance? I'd love to see something more indepth than just the intro to the items that come in a box. Also, it's "Walk-um". Cheers!
Great review and everything, I am planning on getting one of these in the near future, but correct me if im wrong. Shows at walmart site that it's about $220, and bestbuy has it for more ( forgot the price ), not $199.
not all wacom's products are great, bamboo sucks, one suggestion, why not actually draw something and see how it performs a lot of these reviews are pointless in that sense.
The design is 10 out of 10 why 9? They made the other part glossy so to 'not' leave fingerprints. A mat surface is harder to clean and it leaves marks, like on some mouses for example. So is better for cleaning at the spots where fingers are on mostly. Awesome tutorial though man!
I plan on buying this pretty soon but I hear the nibs wear out pretty fast, does anyone actually own this product and can give a more long term review?
Smart review, are you shure you don´t wat to quit school and start working as a wacom sales manager :) You know what youre talking about and there are alot of older people that talk products on youtube, and they are ignorant compared to you....
I don't own one (yet), but I have read about horrendous problems with the Intuous4. Most of the issues dealt with Win7 64bit, with Photoshop CS5 compatibility, and - first and foremost - THE TERRIBLE SURFACE. Unlike the Intuos3 surface, the new one causes the tips to wear off after several days or even hours of work (whereas the Intuos3 surface allowed for 1-2 years without ANY wear and tear of the tips). The tips are ridiculously expensive. Most people buy the Intuos4 but put on the I3 surface.
@chazz916 Yep, digital art is expensive. Try $2800 for the computer first, not to mention the software, although Gimp is almost identical to Photoshop in many ways, and Gimp is 100% free. Of course you can save a lot of money on a computer if you have one that already works for you too. I knew an artist who had really a crap computer and a wacom tablet and he did amazing things with it.
@XxKID1xX no offense but most people once they enter high school actually become really stupid and they dont regain the intelligence until their later years in college or when they enter the workforce.....i know ive been there, lol
Ignore what they say about how you hold the pen. My cousin holds it the same way and I love him either way. I also hold my pens awkwardly, my teacher even told me... which I found strange and weird.
So what if he holds the pen like that. When I was in school my fingers ached with callouses from all the assignments. I held pens & pencils all different ways to lessen the stress. And by the way, holding the pen that way has nothing to do with the review.
I hold my pen the exact same way! Except I'm left-handed... everyone thinks I'm messed up or something but I found a fellow weird-handed person! I should really get a new Intuos... my Intuos 3 is starting to get loose wire connections... plus that one looks much more comfortable to use.
I saw that when you made some squiggly lines in GIMP, it was quite "laggy". Is this because of your computer/my computer/ youtube, or is the tablet hardware/software abit slow?
@morganselstoe i have the large version of this.. the software at times can be laggy, depending upon the input you put on the tablet. however, it doesn' t happen much, that is how much of a prossecer your computer is. >:D
Both Wacom and you guys get my respects cause Wacom is a solid company and your reviews are fair and extensive. But my only argument is that a small bamboo touch pad is 100 bucks. Cheaper even on Amazon.
Thank you so much for this review! My tablet is dieing out and I'm looking for a new one. I have the old version of bamboo fun. How long do you think it will last?
@guitardude95cool The Photoshop software that you can choose to download is a version of the photoshop elements. It is enough to get you fixing photos and drawing fairly well, or at least well enough to work up to buying CS5.
@deadithink i bought the small version of the intuos 4 at staples, so far i haven't had a problem with the tablet,im an entry level user,so you would have to talk to at least an intermediate or professional user, like i said the tablet its working perfectly i haven't had no problems,if your an artist specially if you draw it will come second nature to you, honestly best tablet series at the moment for entry level users , now later on im gonna upgrade to a medium or large size.good luck.
You are a bit miss the point of gloss section. Its made gloss coz buttons and touch ring is matte, so you can easly find any of them without looking on the tablet. Your too young to criticize Wacom developers)
Does the drawing show up the tablet? If not, can you recommend me a tablet that when you draw on it that it shows up on the tablet that wont cost me a thousand dollars, like 100 - 200 dollars?
You are a fantastic reviewer--really one of the best on youtube. Keep up the good work!

So what if he holds the pen like that. When I was in school my fingers ached with callouses from all the assignments. I held pens & pencils all different ways to lessen the stress. And by the way, holding the pen that way has nothing to do with the review.

1:24 nip "extraxurrrr" lolz... you got a purdy mouth.

Is this because of your computer/my computer/ youtube, or is the tablet hardware/software abit slow?
morganselstoe 1 year ago
@morganselstoe i have the large version of this.. the software at times can be laggy, depending upon the input you put on the tablet. however, it doesn' t happen much, that is how much of a prossecer your computer is. >:D

@morganselstoe I Think its because theirs a recorder on.

That's a really strange way to hold a pen. Nice video though!

Is Photoshop free or trial. And u can download all software or just one
guitardude95cool 1 year ago
@guitardude95cool The Photoshop software that you can choose to download is a version of the photoshop elements. It is enough to get you fixing photos and drawing fairly well, or at least well enough to work up to buying CS5.

@ElmoMulder What are you fucking doing with your time?
deadithink 1 year ago
@deadithink i bought the small version of the intuos 4 at staples, so far i haven't had a problem with the tablet,im an entry level user,so you would have to talk to at least an intermediate or professional user, like i said the tablet its working perfectly i haven't had no problems,if your an artist specially if you draw it will come second nature to you, honestly best tablet series at the moment for entry level users , now later on im gonna upgrade to a medium or large size.good luck.
phantomphreak33 1 year ago
You are a bit miss the point of gloss section. Its made gloss coz buttons and touch ring is matte, so you can easly find any of them without looking on the tablet. Your too young to criticize Wacom developers)

Does the drawing show up the tablet? If not, can you recommend me a tablet that when you draw on it that it shows up on the tablet that wont cost me a thousand dollars, like 100 - 200 dollars?
