Misforturne? Doan stayed in Phoenix because he wanted to be a part of the rebuilding process and because he likes the city, and now he's led his very young team to the fifth playoff spot (though that can still change).
I realize that, and the opportunity to stick with the same organization his entire career was another reason he wanted to stay.
I just meant that Phoenix is not a hockey market, and because of that, Doan flies under the radar and doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Really, the Coyotes' financial struggles are pretty much the only news you hear on them.
