this does NOT clean your PS3, all it is, is a fan check or to eject jammed CD's. this could harm your PS3 and i would NOT recommend doing this. a simple way to clean it,is to take the hose from your vaccum cleaner and suck all the dust from its vents.sony actually encourages PS3 owners to do this so do NOT do what this idiot is doing.

this is actually a FORCE EJECT button to force out jammed disks in the ps3. Some people think this is to clean it because of the air it pushes out but no it isn't. If you dont have a jammed disk in the ps3 and u do that, the ps3 will break eventually.

If you turn it upside down, the top air vents wont get any relife. So that is harmfull. But, doing the FORCE EJECT is very harmfull, it is only supposed to be used for serious conditions. Whas the point in turning it upside down. Just press the eject button -.-. Tunring it upside down = wasnt desgned to do that. Holding eject button was a feature to clean console that should be used once every while. (EG a month). Dont overdo this. Overheating the colsole is no good.

switch the colsole fully off. Then Hold your finger on the eject button, and at the same time, flick the switch at the back. The fans will power themselfs up blowing dust.

No it wasn't.That forces the ejection of a jammed disk, but people think it cleans because it pushes dust out.This fucks your GPU and CPU, and slowly takes you to YLOD.If you don't do this at all it's best.The most correct way to clean the inside of the PS3 is getting a low power vacuum.That is if you don't want to open the PS3 and clean it manually.

This is a very risky tactic. The only thing that I would suggest doing is to use a vacuum against the vents. Another reason why the fan may be going off constantly is that you may have it in anentertainment center. The console needs to be in an absolutely open space. I was having the same problems with my PS3. I vacuumed it and removed the game from the entertainment center. It works great. Sure, the fan is going to get loud after extended play, but it'll go off, shortly after.

Doing the forced eject, which is only meant to be carried out by sony maintenance people, and worst of all, sitting the PS3 upside down, with the fan blowing down the way. I contacted Sony to just be sure and they informed it is a function to remove a jammed disc...and it's supposed to be used only by the Sony's maintenance people. If you use this function many times the system can break and the warranty goes void...don't do it =) use vacuum =)
