  • wyoming plates !!!!!!? that's a long trip !! :)

  • To repair thats smash car is between $100 to $250 Us dollars

  • good to see you guys went to my homeland el salvador

  • Sorry about the 500 bucks, I think that damage probably costed more than that. Never the less if she hit you from behind, she was supossed to pay!!! By law!!!

  • Love this country and this city. You guys missed out being there for such a short time and the same with Guatemala. Next time maybe.

  • It was your fault?

  • @purodelazona5

Truck was a 2004 Toyota Tacoma. Mexico is not a problem, the cops may try to bribe you in Mexico but if you know how to handle yourself it is no worries.

  • Not being racis or anythin but why'd you go there? Vacation?

  • @idontlike101

yup pretty much and for adventure.

  • @PortalPatrol Oh ok I tought it was business or something, but I've always wanted to go south from where I live in Texas, I bet its so fun to just drive and drive seeng all the beautiful sites

  • Iam going to move to my county in el Salvador from Utah

  • Haha in el Salvador u will never get a report from the police!! And I think u guys paid more than what u were supposed to...

  • @prettygirl2274

I don't know her car was pretty trashed. I kept in touch with her and she told me it cost her $2,000 to fix it.

  • I guess his passing trick didn't work.

  • NICE LOL ...

I know, surfing in El Salvador is on my to-do list! ;)

  • yeah, but this video is in El Salvador, not in mexico.

  • Nice, the cup let you guys break the Law,

I used to live in San Salvador in the 90s. Great place...

  • What a bicht! even if it was your fault witch wasn't, fixing the car would have cost her 200 dollars top.

  • Too Bad guys!

  • Where were they going???

  • ha los gringos tuvieron k pagar .. tipico del salvador

  • $500 you guys had to paid to the bytch that "hit you"? Give me her name and address, I'll get your money back next time I go back to my country and I'll even make her apologize to you.

  • Thank you Portalpetrol. The 1985 GMC Suburban 6.2 L Diesel is a very reliable engine, see attached. I do have a dog with me too. Is there any problem having a dog on the trip, like in hotels and such? Another question is about the GPS, what did you use? I have Magellan, and can get Mexico GPS downloaded. I am not sure about the rest of Central America.

  • @Sirrrbosss

Like I say that is a good solid truck! I am a big Chevy fan myself and own of them.

The dog: You need a USDA-APHIS form to cross border and also a recent rabies vac and a letter to prove the vac. Both stamped by the USDA. This you want to get less than 30-days before you leave. Also take as many files on your dog as your vet has. Lots of forms helps avoid bribes. Belize will charge you $50 to bring in the dog, other countries it is less.

  • @Sirrrbosss

about GPS: I went old school, no GPS! I am leaving to head south in 2 weeks and once again, no GPS. I like using maps, a GPS makes things a bit to easy. Yet, if you have trouble with route finding take a GPS. I myself am pretty good at finding my way, except in the big cities!

Once you hit CA and the Pan Am Hwy it is very easy to travel without a GPS. The Pan AM is clearly marked all through CA.

  • I am planning to drive to Belize in the next a few weeks from Atlanta and back, approximately 6,000 miles and 30 days. This is not a vacation trip more like exploratory trip to my ultimate trip to the southernmost tip of South America and back in a car. If all goes well in Belize, I might extend it to Costa Rica and Panama. I am driving a vintage 1985 Suburban Diesel in good mechanical shape.

  • @Sirrrbosss

nice! Good choice on vehicle, a little large but solid.

I am heading to Panama soon myself. I will make it from the Mexico border to Costa Rica in 10 days with a few of those days not rushing. You can drive from the Mexico border at Brownsville to Belize in 3 long days. The Gulf Coast is of course the shortest route but the Mex200 is a much better drive on the west coast.

  • That's what happens when the majority of people down in El Salvador don't insure their cars, that's why when I go down to visit family and rent a car, I'll put the insurance because some people down there can't drive, especially the bus drivers.

By the way, why did the resolution at the begining of the video look real nice and then when you got in your car it didn't look as good?

  • @gp5

Not sure what you mean by the resolution looked good then bad.

  • @PortalPatrol Well if you take a good look at the beginning of the video till about 1:37 everything looks nice and clear, after 1:37 the resolution looks a bit fuzzy. That's what I mean

  • @gp5

    I see...

It was either 2 different cameras or my friend lowered resolution to save space and or battery life.

  • got to love that tacomas..how did it handle the trip?

  • @salvy4serote

pretty well...good enough that I am headed back in it shortly.

  • Aw, What an adventure, eh! :D i wanna go back to El Salvador! :'(

  • @portalpatrol Nice video dude! I love my Country you was like 10 min from my house :)

  • hey i got one question how was your trip through Mexico Im planing a trip to Cancun from new york.

  • @salba90

Mexico is good and bad. The traffic cops in Mexico can be nasty and work hard to get a bribe out of you. Certain areas are worse than others for this in Mexico.

  • EL Salvador is no different than Los Angeles or other major cities in the USA,when it comes to crimes. not all is crime or danger ! but you have to know your way around to not end up, in a bad end of the city or town you are in, where the gang's live.

  • they ripped you off man! LOL. i do get why you where forced to pay.

  • jajaja that's funny things are different in Latin America I Love El Salvador

  • jeje...president of USA. Good video.Greetings

  • Why Did U Pay?

  • I love salvadoream girls

  • Amigos Gringos! :D this was an awesome video describing your travel in the country! at least you got to see a local "hot chica" out of that accident LOL

  • hahahaha you kidding me. you have guys, a police escolt to the the frontierrr...just go north to chalatenangoo, hahahhaa

  • @cadelcas

If you know the city and speak Spanish fine...

We do not know the city of San Salvador and speak very little Spanish.

Drive around LA or NYC with no English and not knowing the city and see what kind of problems you have!

  • I love EL SALVADOR>>>>

  • why did YOU have to pay HER if she hit you ???

  • @ric4rnr

I supose it should not say "had to" in the video because....

We didn't HAVE to pay her. We were given a choice and a decision was made. It explains all the details in the dialog in the video.

  • Are u guys crazy? what the hell are you doing in those countries? El Salvador and Honduras and Guatemala are the most dangerous places in the Americas. Wow, you guys are lucky that you got out alive. Be careful next time.

  • @tonapu oh, forgot Mexico. It is number one for violence towards white people or just foreigners in general and even their own local people. DANGER DANGER DANGER.

  • @tonapu

and when was the last time you were in Mexico or Central America?

  • @PortalPatrol The period of time that I visited these countries is irrelevant. I base my opinion solely on what I read and watch in the media and witness accounts of people who have experienced violence in these countries. And please don't come back with "Then how do know if you haven't experienced it?" Happy safe travels...

  • @tonapu

don't post your fear mongering in my videos and enjoy your opinions based on media reports.

  • @tonapu

if you are asking what we are doing there you just don't get it.....

  • @tonapu no,,i think mexico is the most dangerous place now,,

  • @tonapu you are fucking crazy motherfucker why you say that El salvador is dangerous? your country mexico it's more dangerous than El salvador! so quiet and don't give shit!!

  • @MrFlores80 shut up its not dangerous

  • why did you pay 500 dollars?

  • Ha that was cool. I mean at least you settled it and got that out of the way. However, you missed on some gnarly waves and spots in ES. Like el tunco and others. Crazy gringos!

  • El Salvador is just as dangerous as any other country in America, the contient, you have to be caereful everywhere you are...but if you ever need an interpreter here in El Salvador write me lukaspressman@gmail.com I'll be glad to help, specially in a situation like this, because it seem from here like you didn't have to pay anything for that

  • Wow, arent u scared to be in El Salvador, I hear a lot of crazy stories. I am half Salvadorean, so I have family there, but just be really careful!
