  • the illuminati rocks, fuck the church fucking retards, thinking there the only good god, ffs, why cant people live in peace

  • I was amazed the first time I heard this track. Never heard anything like it before. Straight classic

  • Some of the people Kwe's talking bout havent got anywhere to fucking sleep.

    Suck my dick.

  • dang...then you dont know good hip-hop...you must be into that soulja boy snap ya fingers songs that have a dance to go along with it music right?

  • you dont know good music

  • awesome song!

  • does his jacket say B.I.G. ?

  • Add under-appreciated to that

  • intelligent hip hop.

    I love Kweli!

  • oblivion is the man

  • This song is dope, but I liked the Reflection Eternal album way more, it seemed more soulful or something.

  • this song makes me want to get drunk...

  • this song is the truth fuck listen to the words it hardly has anything to do with drinking its funny how even with the best hip hop people still twist it into bullshit

  • someone takes life too seriously...

  • oh thats right... lets blame everyone else cuz people have no self control...

  • i used to burn blunts and listen to this, man the memories

  • This song makes me want to stop drinking what little I do.

  • wow, I'm not a fan of rap, but this song is not bad... I was suprised

  • the most underrated song, he speaks on real life instead of bein like every other artist talkin about how many hoes or cars he got, or how much money he has....

this song is very soulful, and makes sense

  • Agreed. Good hip hop, with relevant messages and good flow is amazing. Crap pop music about Bitches money & cars is... lacking.

  • damn right!

  • songs like this are always slept on by the media

  • The best, even Jay Z says so,

    "Lyrically, I'd be talib kweli"

  • "If lyrics sold, then truth be told / I'd probably be, lyrically, Talib Kweli." - Jay-Z, Moment of Clarity\

  • this song is old, its on the radio a lot..depends what station you are listening to

  • ich komm nicht drauf klar .....ein nur hip hop vom aller feinsten

  • what??? this shit got mah radio play already. this song aint new its like 5 6 years old already. n it was bangin back then. just really depends where u were at back then. In NY we banged this like crazy.

  • clearly it will,

i just heard it on tv

  • ive recently jus heard of him. he fresh.

  • This video WILL NOT come up on my iPhone!

  • :)!!

  • ok actually i think i recognised the beat, its not from a kanye song, its from John Legend - I Used To Love You

  • cuz kanye produced both of them

  • It's that Nina Simone Sinnerman sample.

  • argh what kanye west song has that same piano in the background, i cant remember which one, its annoying lol

  • cause he aint a sell out...him and Common....love them and Mos Def :)

  • oo i hadnt heard of talib before a few days ago but..wow i like him! hes good.

  • talib is awesome fuck lil wayne

  • lil wayne cant sing for shit

  • as sick as lil wayne is..he aint got shit on talib

  • can i get your number shortie. yous be hellsta fine. i want to tap that shit all night long

  • is this the same sample as in "i try"?

  • you just said a mouthful when you said that, it's so true.

  • EPIC period.

  • Vote Kwali

  • esta fue antes de la de alicia keys "karma" no??

  • ok right on 1:20 he looks like kanye.

good song, this is the shit i wish the would play on the radio in australia

  • great!

  • Maybe if MTV and other commercial channels played more stuff like this instead of 50 cent and lyl wayne (their names deserve no capitals) then kids might grow with their soul and intelligence and this world as whole would be a slightly better place....But why would MTV do that for? ..My super sweet 16's the way forward! (I sound like my Grandad, but he's got a long grey beard and tattoos, he's so cool!) lol

  • lil waynes the shit but this right here is real

  • Mang, get out of here with that lil wayne ish.

  • dope fuckin track

  • this guy is the best rapper i know he makes the deepest music

  • I gotta say immortal technique beats talib in deepness, but talib is definetly top 3 for me

  • yeah in deepness but hes music is just abit to serious i think, not very uplifting

but lyricly hes is very talented

  • one of the realest hardest hip hop tracks. bigup kweli, london.

  • pretty much one of the best hip hop songs mad soul just my op

  • I love this song...

  • when i listen to real songs, deep songs like this it makes me shudder, my whole body shivers

  • Yeah, I get that to!

  • thats when you know its real music.

  • downright perfect

  • soooo dope!!! one of my top!

  • dope re-edit

  • People gave you thumbs down? They must not know what 'dope' means in your context.

  • this song's dig

  • is this the afghan flag on the 1:57 minute?

  • is this the aghan flag on minute 1:57?

  • BROOOKLYYYYYNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

  • I saw that.

    Rocko screwed it all up.

  • Randomass kanye at 1:19

  • hahaha not at all random cus he made the beat and hook...

  • i luv this viedo...uhmmm ^_^

  • one of Talib's best with great real lyrics

  • THA TRUTH

  • i can hear and feel nina simone in this song.. besides that i dunno

  • alex capone, they dont get airplay because its more political then dance music, just like jaddakiss's why its doesnt get airplay then, not because its not good, rappers like talib premiere top ten on the charts in many cases, mos def always debuts top ten when he makes a new album even then, thats not that important underground music is too complex for listeners who need to hear music thats simple and easy to understand, if one wants something with soul and complexity, they go underground.

  • People buy tracks like that because they are foolish. They believe it to be a true representation of hip hop. Women, Money, Sex, Drugs, and Violence are all aspects of the hip hop culture however they are not the only things hip hop is about. What can you do? You can educate the masses. For if we do not arm ourselves with knowledge how can we hope to slay the beast known as ignorance?

  • educate the ignorant people who buy those tracks and buy into the mentality that the life style portrayed by rappers such as fifty is not something one should emulate. we all need to do that otherwise hip hop will cease to be a cultural art form. without sharing knowledge how can we hope to slay the beast known as arrogance? be one of those who raises arms against this foe and that will be what you can do...

  • This is REAL Rap

  • i love the part when they start singing.."this morning..i woke up......" gives you that sunday church feeling. real powerful

  • Useless rantings like 50's "I get Money" only creates cynical minds, besides being completely unintelligent. We all know he's making money, and? Main stream rappers spit absolutely nothing on their tracks, make millions, then come right back and tell us they said nothing on their records but still made millions. It's a big pile of brown stuff, but that's just my opinion.

  • "Even when the living is miserable, your position is pivotal" As a nation that's getting diseased with fear, hate and indifference, we need these words to remind us we're important parts of a bigger picture

  • the rappers hu chat real sense never really make it dat for, cos pple lyk to buy tunes from da rappers hu all rap da sme and hu r fakes.

Talib Kweli, Common etc definately under-rated

  • how are talib or common under-rated???

anyone with a little insight into hip hop know them and even if they dont like them still rate them as emcees!

they are up there with likes of ATCQ, De La!

not under rated just poorly marketed!

  • Yeah thats because there is no market for rappers that keep it real. And you'd be surprised with the amount of people that haven't heard of these rappers. Relatively speaking how much mainstream radio play does Talib get? Practically nothing...

  • Wow, that's just amazing man. It's like every time I listen this song, it just keeps on getting better.

  • I know man! If only all rap was like this, so socially relevant and well-composed. I love the guy, he's talented.

  • we sell crack to our own

  • I love this song. I could listen to it everyday all day!!

  • I am thankful that there is someone who understands kanye's sped up soul. but the RZA has been doing it alot longer. I am glad that nina simone gets her due from atleast one person.

  • luv dis song rass

  • i hope his album sells ova 200.000

  • this track is what keeps me alive.

  • cool song....bad beat!!!

  • This is a real MC!

  • rap has moved away from real stuff like this. right now, rap is like the fuckin WWF with all these fake ass clowns jumpin off the turnbuckle tyrin to get a paltinum plaque.

  • I wish rap like this would be more popular than Jones and all that shiat gangsta. Rappers like this kick ass.

  • talibs kinda ugly

  • so.. ?

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!

  • hey come check my channel to see more great video like this.

  • talib is a gral lyricst

  • great

  • and hot beat by kanye..timbaland also used the same sample on "oh timbaland"

  • what a tuuuune!

  • woooooooooooooo really cool song maaaaaaaaan!! xQueeN**

  • I used to blast this song when I was in college in 2002.

  • the realest: Talib,Common,Mos Def,Binary Star

  • TALIB KWELI IS THE TRUTH. This song is fucking hot fire.

  • meh, better then jibbs, Soulja boy, or any other of that new garbage rap they got coming out.

  • talib is awesome! he uses great samples 4 his songs

  • His new cd is awesome and this nina simmon sample is so hot.

  • you stupid bitch i'm a nigger

  • Comedian Mike Britt getting a hair cut at 1:07

  • You do realize these guys were POOR for majority of their lives before striking their first million. Not only that majority of rappers are not millionaire, most of the money they make from their albums goes to the distributing company. They average anywhere from $250k-$600k, and a lot of that is from touring, ads and other stuff. About only 20-30% of their salary comes directly from record sales.

  • millionaire rockers do the same thing, buddy.

  • Millionaire rappers? Do you know what you're talking about? Do you know how hard Kweli worked to get where he is?

I grew up in his hood in brooklyn and hung out with his moms in his book store (which btw they couldn't afford so they moved locations).

All he's done is help his community and show the rap game that you could make it with good lyrics. He still hasn't "sold out" like most.

Go hate on the commercial rappers...

Go hate on someone that deserves it... like yourself.

  • i liked him in black star with mos def. those were the days...

  • No Doubt.

  • come by and check out my mos def live video!!!!!

  • one of only a few rappers who has kept their shit real and hasnt fallen victim to the bullshit mainstream shit..

  • See his last two major albumns; they show that he can't put up against your mediocre possie artists from Terror Squad or Murda Inc. in their own game.

  • I think its great to see some older high quality videos here.

Talib is probably my favorite rap artist. Only Mos Def comes close..

  • Kweli's the shit!

Shits on G Unit and all those fake wannabe thugs from great heights.

  • I like this. I like it a lot. Its refreshing to hear something other than drugs, money, chicks and how hard they are.

    I give it a 10! A FUCKIN 10!

  • True lyricist wit substance.

  • damn. i love this song and the album. more rap needs to have this much substance.
