Imo the only way we have to truly understand complexity and interconnectivity is through science and not religion. Some religions might give a sense of relationship to nature, and certainly not the monotheistic religions as mentioned in the video, but ultimately even the "good" religions will lead you to dogma, which tries to simplify complexity so as to fit our "common sense", and if it was up to "common sense" we would still believe the Earth was flat.
Science is also a religion, science is not the solution, it can be very dogmatic, just like any religion or philosophy. Don't get hooked to a believe system at all or be doomed. The spirit of nature already have all the solutions we need, everything already existed before we did, and have always existed. The only new things are those which have been forgotten.
In fact the occult church knew very good the world was not flat and that we where not alone in the universe at all.
