  • could you make a video on pompano fishing?

  • @gamefisher5 I haven't made one for that yet.

  • Actually this guy @nameuser012 is right at 2:58 if you look to the right of dan you can barely see a dorsal fin retreating into the ocean

  • Hello Dan !

I'm talking from Brazil again ( Arjona of GPP forum) , and , I want to ask you , if you've already used grubs for surf fishing ... I've used some micro-grubs (yellow colour) and I've catched little pompanos and an other especie of pompano

Do u have some suggestions of what lures I can use too ?

    Thanks a lot.

  • Hello Dan

    Congratulations for the great video.

In my country fished on the beach with a system of two hooks with a sinker on the end.

I started using the C-ring and tives for more options without having to change anything, I can fish with artificial lures or natural.

    Thanks for the advice.

  • Hey dan, have you ever tried using a simple rubbercore sinker instead of a C-Rig for surf-fishing? This way, there are no break-points, other than the hook itself. I used a small rubber-core on 6-lb test, I caught a nice Corbina around seven pounds this way! the line brand was Stren original, #6. Best light line I've ever used!

  • @mmmmmarcus I like sliding sinkers better.

  • its a monster

  • thanks thats would be cool

  • what was that to your side of you at 2:58-3:02

  • it's just a bag I carry my extra fishing tackle in, you can also use it to carry bait too.

  • @nameuser012 no there was something in the water

  • @nameuser012 I think you are asking the blue ting , well it's the 3 rd grip , it's like a rod holder, you can find it under the name 3rd grip in google

  • yes that's right, I think you can only find them on - line.

  • if i need a new rod and reel where can i buy it?

  • what length rod shouls i put on my abu garcia 104?

  • 7-9 foot would work fine.

  • Hola, que tal Sr. Dan., estamos aqui en Quintana Roo, y tenemos bastante ¨surf¨..pero casi nadie is interested in fishing from the beach...We have alot of big rocks..do you have any tips as to what I might catch thats edible from the Caribe...I have vast experience in freshwater fishing (semi-pro bass tour) but I am finding out that saltwater is a different story..favorite saltwater fish so far..Rubia, Boquinete, mero, Robalo....all tips apreciated...

    Saludos de Riviera Maya....

  • If you have a lot of rocks there, then i'm sure you'll find some fish too. i'd suggest you order some of our 1/2oz. B-52 bucktail jigs and try those, good luck

  • @dansportfishing ....sounds good sir, but we have a shortage of tackle shops here...If I were to order lures & terminal tackle, is there a place inside the Republic of Mexico where I can order from...I have tried the international shipping routes by Fed-ex....ordered an $120 shimano reel ended paying $380 after shipping & handling & customs...We are bunch of Retired Marines among others..but with no way to order stuff....

  • try Cabelas.com, they send out order all around the world everyday.

  • Hey Dan,I love your surf fishing videos. You should make some more surf fishing videos to put on you tube

  • hey im going fishing off the beach in destin florida and were going to be fishing with live shrimp what is your opinion on the tipe of tackle to be using'

  • i'd like to use light tackle surf fishing. it all depends on the sizes fish you're going after. If you're not sure i'd suggest you visit a local tackle shop and ask for advice.

  • Hey what is the best beach for surf fishing in san clemente,Ca i would think maybe

  • Hey Dan I want to go surf fishing and take my brother. He is 14 i was wondering if he needs a fishing license.

  • no he doesn't, In CA you only need one if you're 16 or older. I'm not sure what age you need one for Mexico.

  • hey dan i'm going to cabo san lucas in a week i'm bringing a heavy trout rod and reel with a 15 pound test line i'm looking for a nice medium sized fish to catch from the beach to bring t o a restaurant for them to cook..i was thinking something larger than a surf perch yet cathable on my set

  • sure, if you land a roosterfish make sure you release it.

  • Hi Dan! thanks for the quick reply! i forgot to ask you: what kind of gulp bait would you recomend for fishing from rocks and surf and different species near rosarito?

  • use the sand worm.

  • thanks a lot, hope to see you again.

  • hello Dan, are the fish there all year, or some month's better than other's.

  • yes there are....

  • What is the size rod are you using, and what action is the reel.

  • it's a 7' rod and a light action reel, if you have a 8' rod that would work even better.

  • Hey noob surf fisher here, just wondering why you need a sliding sinker?

  • that way the fish never know that you're there, your line just slides through the sinker.

  • Gulp don't work

  • -YOU- dont work. LMAO Yes it does work! Its actually quite effective.

  • it does for me. watch the video again and you'll see it works great!
