last time i went fishing at south padre island and i caught a small fish i was reeling it in when a seagull flies down and grabs it i tried to yank it down put the hook just came of and the seagull took the fish.I was like WOW ive never seen anything like that.
hey dan..i am from state of goa..thats in india..i hardly see any people fishing on the beach.but a lot of people fish at the mouth of the river...close to where the river and sea connects i have never seen surf perch..the most common fish that we catch are,Long fin cavalla,Indian Salmon,Reef cod,Mangrove red snapper ,Horse mackeral,Indian Mackral,Barracuda,Giant sea perch.....i usually end up catching Perch that are around 2kg+....any tips wat should i try to fish on the beach
@dukenns if youre from goa use size 13 hooks you,ll get them from the local store ,use the small clams on the shore break them and put them on the hook im sure you,ll catch the fish called "muddoushi" and crescent perchor "ganvoi"
I'm talking from Brazil again ( Arjona of GPP forum) , and , I want to ask you , if you've already used grubs for surf fishing ... I've used some micro-grubs (yellow colour) and I've catched little pompanos and an other especie of pompano
Do u have some suggestions of what lures I can use too ?
Hey dan, have you ever tried using a simple rubbercore sinker instead of a C-Rig for surf-fishing? This way, there are no break-points, other than the hook itself. I used a small rubber-core on 6-lb test, I caught a nice Corbina around seven pounds this way! the line brand was Stren original, #6. Best light line I've ever used!
@nameuser012 I think you are asking the blue ting , well it's the 3 rd grip , it's like a rod holder, you can find it under the name 3rd grip in google
hey dan!! what length rod is taht your using in this video? and also, what ounce weight do you use? i just bought a freshwater rod and was wondering if i could use it for surf fishing. its a 7 ft medium with extra fast action
Hola, que tal Sr. Dan., estamos aqui en Quintana Roo, y tenemos bastante ¨surf¨..pero casi nadie is interested in fishing from the beach...We have alot of big rocks..do you have any tips as to what I might catch thats edible from the Caribe...I have vast experience in freshwater fishing (semi-pro bass tour) but I am finding out that saltwater is a different story..favorite saltwater fish so far..Rubia, Boquinete, mero, Robalo....all tips apreciated...
If you have a lot of rocks there, then i'm sure you'll find some fish too. i'd suggest you order some of our 1/2oz. B-52 bucktail jigs and try those, good luck
@dansportfishing ....sounds good sir, but we have a shortage of tackle shops here...If I were to order lures & terminal tackle, is there a place inside the Republic of Mexico where I can order from...I have tried the international shipping routes by Fed-ex....ordered an $120 shimano reel ended paying $380 after shipping & handling & customs...We are bunch of Retired Marines among others..but with no way to order stuff....
hey im going fishing off the beach in destin florida and were going to be fishing with live shrimp what is your opinion on the tipe of tackle to be using'
i'd like to use light tackle surf fishing. it all depends on the sizes fish you're going after. If you're not sure i'd suggest you visit a local tackle shop and ask for advice.

Hi Dan! thanks for the quick reply! i forgot to ask you: what kind of gulp bait would you recomend for fishing from rocks and surf and different species near rosarito?
Hey Dan, went fishing at Newport Beach yesterday and caught 20 BSP. I had a blast. By the way I try seraching up the rod you said and couldn't find the exact one. You think you can give me the exact model of the rod you use in the video? I'm planning to get one of those just for surf fishing. Thanks again

Hello Dan
Congratulations for the great video.
In my country fished on the beach with a system of two hooks with a sinker on the end.
I started using the C-ring and tives for more options without having to change anything, I can fish with artificial lures or natural.
Thanks for the advice.

What is the size rod are you using, and what action is the reel.

it's a 7' rod and a light action reel, if you have a 8' rod that would work even better.

Hey noob surf fisher here, just wondering why you need a sliding sinker?
alexman18 2 years ago 2
that way the fish never know that you're there, your line just slides through the sinker.
