Protecting the plate is something kids have to be very aware of and read the rulebook for their league. Most leagues and high schools it is illegal to run over the catcher period. In alot of leagues you have to leave 1/2 the bag available for the runner to reach if you have the ball. So in this situation a catch should protect the side away from his glove hand so the runner. At no time to you impede a runners path to the base if you do not have the ball.

well on my pitch location i do like this. Example for Fastball down to the right (I stick out 1 finger then i just tap my right thigh 2 times and tap the ground with my glove

if u do u will be hit n the ribs if it is a bad pitch or crappy foul tip

Dude's stupid catcher is the only position I've ever known so tell me this dude: runners coming off third and you're stupid and get on two knees, what's gonna happen? The runners gonna say "hey, somewhere exposed!" and dig his spikes right in you. Hate to be coached by him

i don't think that last position for throw to 2nd is smart if there's a right handed batter, b/c the batter would probably just get in your way, because he's going to back out after a pitch. So then that would have to make u move further to the left or go back to the center to throw at second, which will waste time.

You've got to understand..rules..are different everywhere. In the city the kids play in here (I catch for a single A team by the way, moving up), you CANNOT block the plate with or without the ball, with your knee(s) down. The runner, in the rules of our city, has to have an equal opportunity to the plate. You have to realize there are different rules everywhere.

first of all when you call signs you dont put your glove on your chest, you lean your forearm on your left leg so that you block the third base coaches from picking signs

No comment.  Very amateur. #1 always give signs in your signal stance...never show you signals. #2 never drop to both knees when trying to block the plate...you'll be dead. #3 never throw a change up down the middle...etc, etc, etc.
