Eurovision is crap, all the votes are based more on how much the citizens of one country like a different country rather than their actual performance. Thats why the UK finish near the bottom every year.

It all would have been all great, had not the cheapest tickets to the competition cost 240$. I wanted to go, but figured sitting in the front row in my living room would be much cheaper and most likely more enjoyable. I am rambling...

Well, smart pans, by your thinking Non-European members of EBU: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia besides Israel should participate in Eurovision too.
After all, Eurovision is called for a reason. And by the way, Turkey is located in a part of geographical Europe, so I don't question its participation eligibility.

Turkey, Russia and Israel are not part of Europe! I agree with others who are confused why they are a part of Eurovision.
It does seem however that the EBU has a role in the Eurovision song contest, so that probably explains it.
