@Darkestone46and2 Well this is a good one to start on, dude. Just air drum to the vid, imagine the kit, it's more or less the same principle as the real thing. If you like it get your own set.

I've recently gotten into the idea of picking the drums up, and I've decided to learn it through cover videos. I'm not sure if I'm any good.
But I've had some trouble with all this crap on the pedals. Sort of hard for me to multitask it, if you know what I mean. If I leave out the hi-hat I can do it alright, but that's not the point. How the heck can I get better if I leave it out, you know?
Is it just something you get the hang of? Any input at all would be welcome.
@Semi0Skimmed0Milk Hey there, I'm glad to know you're giving those drums a try. If you're just getting started then what you're going through is pretty normal. Just try doing it as slow as possible using both pedals and, as soon as you're comfortable with it, speed it up a bit. Lemme know how that goes!
@leperm Hi! Been playing around on the drums too on my own for awhile now. It's kinda hard for me to check if I'm doing anything wrong, or anything right at all =/ Got a question about the hi-hat foot as well!
Actually I'm having quite abit of a problem with weight distribution. Where should I be shifting most of my weight? It was ok before i started play around with my left foot, but now balance is an issue =/. Any help at all would be appreciated =]

You know how you lead with your left hand at 1:24 how come you dont do a sneaky paradiddle (rlrlrrL) thats what ive been doing it seems kinda easier to do?
Really like the hi hat in triplets aswell i shall have to try that haha
@joehumphries That is actually clever, but i think it's more complicated than leading with your left hand or crossing your right arm. I think it would be too fast (at least it is for me)
Got a drumset last weekend (YAYYY :B) and I can play this song but I still can't get the hi hats exactly right. Any tips? other than "keep practicing"? :)
I'd advise you to keep praticing. Just kidding, try doing the hats on 8ths, that is, doing them nonstop, instead of stopping only on the snare drum. Se entiende?
Great Video! this is one of my favs off of the new (incredible!) album. The drums on this song are perfect, suttle and tasteful you did a wonderful job.
Indeed, I noticed that too, but I still can't lie to myself. No matter how much I want to, I cant hear the tambourine on top of the snare so I guess he changes that live.
and seriously now, all the stuff i said below is what i still think but i posted this on your first cover of this song:
i think that the hi-hat foot in the verse carries on for 8 times in the bar it's just that you cant hear it in the song because the snare is too loud. if you're not sure what i mean, check out callen1034 he does what i mean on the hi-hat
I know what you mean. I saw his cover and I saw live versions of the song and I honestly don't care if the rest of the world is doing full notes without rests, on the record I don't hear such pattern!! I even removed the vocals and did other things to bring out the drums and that only made me more confident about it.
rly lol. i get y u havent covered them in awhile fab is very standard rock (all the time) lol but w/e keep doing what your doing. the covers are great. i love how you take time out to actually make sure the sound quality isnt complete garabe.
r u just recording with a camera and then u sync the music to ur drumming? this is a complete forign topic to me...so please teach enlighten me
Thats sick Leperm ... This is definitely the best AM's Drum Cover on youtube as depends on technique and TIGHTNESS ... Its f*cking awesome ...
PS: At 1:17 you could lead with Right hand and have a double stroke at the end to hit the snare with the left as well ... It d be easier for me but it may be more diff for you ...
Such an awesome song covered brilliantly. Love the quality too! Would love to see some more songs from the QOTSA album Songs For The Deaf, after you've finished stuff from Humbug/ The Resistance. 5/5...again.
Hahaha that's ok, you're not bugging me. Thing is I still have some Humbug songs to work on and after that I was thinking of covering some Muse so even if I did do Electricityscape it'd be in a long time from now. Plus it's a noisy song with a loud of tom work which doesn't exactly encourage me to tackle it (I love the song tho)
i wouldnt have the abilitys on drums ....theres alot going on, i think the guitar would be more me, muse is alot of the reason i would want to take up playing, their songs are mad!

Thanks man. It took some time yeah. I first tried it just with my hands, and then incorporated the rest of my body into the pattern. Start slow and you'll get it.
