this is different to others in morocco I watched making mint tea, in the first few stages they actually keep the water from the first wash as its known to be pure, and the second stage they wash out the pot and throw away the water...here he discarded the first cup
Dima lmahgrib!!! I miss morrocan tea sooooo much!!!!!!! I have never been a friend of tea. And no other tea is so tasty like moroccan tea. I loved it from the first try. Bnin bzaaf (◕_◕)
I was served Moroccan tea in a North African cafe just recently, and it had Jasmine in it also. I was a little surprised as I assumed only mint and green tea are used.
@MrKaerf that's normal. When I was in Morocco a few months ago (in Amizmiz to be exact) the person who served me was adding Lavender...you can add whatever spice you like to the mix.
Excellent video. LIKED the directions printed over the video. Simply explained

Thank you for watching my videos.
The first wash is known to remove the bitterness off the fermented tea leafs. It also discards any dust or impurities.
That’s how it was and it still is…

Yes, It depends where you are in Morocco, they can serve tea with mint and Jasmine or fresh orange blossoms, or blue verbina, or fresh thyme...

@MajidRecipes Asalam Aleyk Majid, would it be ok to use dry for those you listed? such as for the thyme.

@ParthianImmortal
Yes, I use dry thyme in many of my recipes. I use it when making soup, beans with lamb and sausage, tea, ... good luck.
