somebody gotta have all the songs they played on this...and in better quality. i've seen hello mary lou in crystal clear quality...bad encoding on this vid i guess. but thanks for puttin it up
Foy Willing and the Riders of the Purple Sage.....I had a record by them, way cool old school country. Did a song about the Black Hills that raises the hair on your spine
Saw them last week and they dind't play panama red and everyone was super pissed off except for me because I am 15 and I am lucky to find the bands I like still touring like canned heat johmmy winter or others.
he's good that's for sure. I saw NRPS at the Armadillo World Headquarters in about 1970 and when they played "Hello Mary Lou" the crowd of hippies went crazy over the pedal steel part.
That's when I decided to transform my rock group into "progressive country" (as they called it back then).
I've long thought this is one of the top names for a band I've ever heard! so poetic or meaningfully concise? I see a vision of an endless, beautiful, empty, sunny field of flowers (purple sage) and the glory of and in the realising of this from being there. A new passenger/rider on wings of light and colour manifest as forms of hope from real, tangible life itself! :)
SONG IS CALLED "TRUCK DRIVIN MAN" NOT TEXAS........JUST SAYIN
