@HappyGestapo It's a pretty awkward setup: I have my Xbox (or other console) going into a distribution amplifier, and then I have separate cords going to EyeTV (a TV tuner that does the actual recording), my TV (so I can play without lag), and my headphones.

crazy for having surround sound for pc? games are 100 times better on Pc than tv and 100 times better with surround sound.

How would someone set up a surround sound system for their PC, though? You need the speakers to be at least a few feet away on each side, but you're stuck at your desk. I dunno. I definitely wouldn't be able to pull it off.

are you seious? I bought the Audigy surround sound card at walmart for $20. I got the Logitech speakers with 5.1 surround for $80. thats it done. the sound is ridiculous. when i play games the sounds are all around me. even though the speakers are more or less in a half circle in front of me. AMAZING.

Where do you set the two speakers that go behind you, though? That'd be my biggest issue: plenty of room in front on a desk, but I can't think of anyone who has the space behind them for two more speakers, unless you're ghetto like me and set up a table or two behind you while playing.

no need too. just like i said like a half circle in front of you. the sound on logitech is really accurate and moves with the speakers. surround sound doesn't mean you have to have them behind you at all times. the sound in general sounds 10 X better, trust me on that. i was playing bioshock and heard things coming from the sides and behind even. sweet.

I highly recommend at minimum 2.1 surround sound logitech speakers with the audigy card.

And she was so quiet, too! Yeah, YouTube's limited to around ten minutes. They claim 10 minutes is the limit, but people can go over. However, I stick with under to be safe.

It won't take forever... just a month or two, hopefully.
