Man i just started learning the fretboard and the different pentatonic shapes and it's crazy how now i can tell what you're doing with the improv in like 5 diff shapes i just can't play with those licks nearly that fast >.<
Awesome job man, i definately wanna get on your level one day

@infinityjet It seems like on every video this guy has someone has to jump in and diminish his skill. Sorry for inaccurately and unfairly lumping you in with those guys.
sam, in my mind this is your best video but i'm a super mega fan of pink floyd and i'm sorry but this isn't comfortably numb.. comfortably numb solo need passion and emotion.. this is a fantastic Bm improvisation, not comfortably numb improv..
ok Sam, I've seen enuff of your videos now to have figured it out, you've been taking classic Les Pauls and grinding them up eh ? Can't fool this old bird ha ha, just let me in tho mate, what do you do with the grindings, boil em down to a tea and drink them or twist em up and smoke em ?
I agree on comments re the guitar solo, however I like Snowy White's version when he played with Roger Waters, I was fortunate to be there in the flesh. Like it so much I want it played at my funeral.

Hell Yeah, I just heard The Pink Floyd version on the radio and it inspired me to download a backing track, thought I would have a quick look on You Tube to get some inspiration and I came across your video, very cool. Thought I would have a quick look a your profile and couldn't believe it; Hometown: Bromsgrove – Snap. Are you playing anywhere in the area soon?
Well, that's excellent skill on the guitar bro. Each has his own style and I totally respect that. But this particular solo in the original version has a lot of feel in it and hits the right notes and basically expresses itself with a very few notes where the notes blend in perfectly with the chords. I feel this solo is more skill then feel and has too may notes and is more or less patterns clubbed together. However, excellent skill and for that style of playing, great job.

@Roadtomusicmastery faster beat much heaver pumping drums .his intention was never to go for the Dave melodic feel .hes rocking it out .more about drama and passion than the soulfully original .
I've listened to this improvisation so many times and I'm no one to judge...but I think its lacking patterns. This is still VERY godly and much better than I can, but this solo could be better without the same repetitive patterns moved up and down the neck. This dude is going places though and its great to see music like this is still alive and if more guys like Coulsonsam come along I think the guitar gods would be more than willing to pass the torch.
oh god, i've never liked les paul's sound...and besides you put a shred into this solo...double trick! i'm sorry but i don't like it, you're phenomenal ok, but i don't feel a thing. les paul :S fender :)
you should title this "Technical Difficulties improv" since your playing is more in the style of Paul Gilbert and he uses the same progression for the solo in that song
Oh an to the guy who asked why key if you wanna stick true too David he almost always played in b minor or g minor..... And that was the keys for the third comfortably numb solo 2 he did e b and g minor for comfotably numb

Nice move dropping it to E dude ,never seen anybody else do that, your setup sounds great. not that this isn't great guitar playing, I just don't think it would fit with Comfortably numb except for a few parts.

yeah maybe it wouldnt fit over the original song but this is my interpretation. i just love the chord progression and its alot of fun to improvise over
