Well the notion of the earth being round was ridiculous as well, was it not? And they don't use visual range of photography for nebulas. They take pictures applying the three primary colors of light assigned to the composition of the nebula. Red shows emission from singly-ionized sulfur atoms. Green shows emission from hydrogen. Blue shows light emitted by doubly- ionized oxygen atoms. So, if you were to look at the nebula it wouldn't look like the picture shown.

We don't have to resources to maintain the status quo in America! Google "debt clock org", we're in debt $13 trillion. The average taxpayer owes $118,000ish. It costs so much money for us to even break orbit in Earth. The nearest star is about 16 light years away. It takes us years just to get to Neptune. Space travel for any purpose is unrealistic and unpractical. We just don't have the technology or resources as much as you'd like explore.

I some what agree. Earth is insignificant especially when you end up running diagrams of yellow stars hundreds of times bigger than our own son. If there was a meaning to life, it would simply be to live it and gain experience from it; no defining purpose. Kind of like apples, they exist and taste good; why are they here? If that were true then it's most certainly the reason of... just being. And they don't use visual range of photography for nebulas. They take pictures applying the three primary colors of light assigned to the composition of the nebula. Red shows emission from singly-ionized sulfur atoms. Green shows emission from hydrogen. Blue shows light emitted by doubly- ionized oxygen atoms. So, if you were to look at the nebula it wouldn't look like the picture shown.

It costs so much money for us to even break orbit in Earth. The nearest star is about 16 light years away. It takes us years just to get to Neptune. Space travel for any purpose is unrealistic and unpractical. We just don't have the technology or resources as much as you'd like explore.

Unless you had no mass to start with, but then you're already travelling at speed of light. If someone beliefs in god (christianity, buddhism whatever) or someone is an atheist, is just subjective matter.There'll always be both sides. I for all think, it's good to belief in a creator. And my experience is, no personal offense here, that philosophical, religious persons are more warmhearted and friendly then atheists, who're often quite cold (emotionally). Maybe everyone should just learn to respect each other and think about improving the daily life on this only planet we have :)

There is no evidence that the human brain, or indeed anything for that matter, evolved. Darwin's theory is just that - a theory. Darwin was not a scientist. The fossil record is irrefutable proof that if the entire history of the world was segmented into, say 12 (clock-clike) segments then life just appeared on earth at about 11. There is no evidence it evolved from slime. God created everything the it is and was.

If there truely is a mind behind this wonderful universe then im quite sure he doesn't care about a fictional holy book. Last i heard there were about 300billion stars in the milky way which is one of billions of galaxies. Put down that book and be in awe of this spectacular universe.

how bout you try this one on for size: there is no one god, there is no one set entity above all else. what if everything, every living being combined, every star, grain of dust, all makes up a god force and there is no single "old man in a chair" or "allah"...what if everything is god and god is just a force and not a judgmental im gonna send you to heaven or hell being...and what if there is no heaven or hell, just other planes of existence, metaphysical realms? there is a bigger picture
