  • this is a mad world. I kinda look forward to die, myself.

  • my daughter wasn't even 20lbs until she was 18 months and everybody was always talking about how she needs to be turned around because she was 1... ppl don't realize that they should keep kids in seat in til Maximums and instead switch seats at the next seats minimums or at ages... I didn't want my daughter forward facing and then right when I gave in the new standards about keeping kids rear facing as long as possible came out... these seat for older kids have be out for ages for the rich

  • RIP Kyle, March, 13th/ 2002 - May 29th/ 2005, Happy 6th year as an angel! Because of you, there are children being saved by their 5-point harness'! Your changing lives everyday, and your not even with us in body any more. Your legacy lives on, forever, kyle! <3

  • Thank you for sharing your story and I am sorry for your loss. In the news they show the difference between the booster seat and the "jumbo seat" and yes, a 3 year old is to small for the seat belt of the car, he is suppose to sit rear facing. In Sweden we don't have 5 point harness when front facing because the recommendations here is rear facing to 5 years and by then they say the child is big enough to use to seat belt of the car. That so called "jumbo seat" is suppose to be rear facing.

  • i have watched the kyle david miller video first i am so sorry for there loss i have two children a 5yr old and an 18 month old my 5yr old is only 42lbs and in a no back booster and my 18month old is in a ff only high back witha harness she is ony 23lbs i am so scared for them but what can i do i cantafford new seats but after watching this video if you can keep them rf and in a harness past 40lbs i would say definetly do that

  • @kennedy24ify please please come to car-seat.org and post for info on programs designed to help people just like you... many safekids programs and other tech organizations help people strapped for cash keep their kids safe by providing seats. There are also less expensive options out now. But of course, the best you can do is what you are doing, using the seats you can afford that fit your kids properly every time.

  • @kennedy24ify May I suggest for your 5 year old look at the Graco natulis, it 5 point harnesses up to 65lbs and is one of the cheaper but better seats on the market that harnesses past the 40 lbs limit. I have that one for my 4 year old daughter because I couldnt afford the Birtex brand. and you can also look at any convertibal carseat you can get a cheap one for like 35 dollers that will keep your 18month old ERF till 35lbs or you can find one that ismore expencive that will last longer.

  • @jsrcamp i was able to get a seat for the baby she is now ERF and will be for awhile she's so tiny i would love to get a graco nautilus for my 5yr old but unfortunetly i can't even afford that right now i'm trying to save up for it i just hope i can get one soon i do a lot of expressway driving especially right now due to her grandpa being ill we are makeing more visits then normal to spend as much time with him as we can thank you for responding to my post

  • I am so sorry for your loss.

Even before I knew about the dangers, I knew my boys would be in 5 point harnesses as long as possible. We have a Graco seat. They will be in the 5 point until they are 65 pounds and then the booster w/seatbelt until 100 pounds.

I wish more parents would see the importance of a 5 point harness.

  • I remember this .... do you?

  • im cryin my eyes out . this poor little boy died because of someone who broke a red light, hope thta guy never drives again. kyle will be in everyones heart. i pray for kyles family. thank u for making these videos and making sure every child has a 5 point harness

  • The original video it what caused me to do more research and my almost 7 and 5 yr olds are still in 5 point harness 99% of the time (unfortunately hubby's car just cannot fit 3 carseats so in their they are in HBBs).

  • Thank you for posting this and I'm sorry for your loss :(

  • yeah it's a lot of money, but I would rather spend a lot of money then lose my child (one is way more important than the other)

  • thats my cousin

  • @denverfan95 kyle was ur cousin?

  • Thank you for sharing this video and to help us keep our kids safe. Watching this video helped us make the decision about what car seat to have for our kids. (We have a 6, 5, and 3 year old girls who ARE in the 5 point harness).

  • I was really on the fence about which carseat to get my 4 year old daughter. Right now she has the Britax Roundabout, but she will soon outgrow it. I have been "teased" many time for getting her such an "extravagant" carseat, but now I realize that I made the right decision. I will continue putting her in a 5 point harness until I can't find one for her size!

Thank you Miller family for reminding me that safety must come first. You will not be forgotten.

  • Makes the point clearly and effectively. The reporter's listing of the ways a booster seat might not be able to protect a younger child: 1.) putting the shoulder belt behind the back, 2.) submarining, 3.) child might make the weight requirement for a booster, but still not tall enough to be protected by the shoulder harness.

It still breaks my heart, every time I see this video. Protect your babies, love them as hard as you can.

  • I am so sorry for the Miller Family's loss. I so grateful that you shared this info on carseats. My 5 year old son uses the Regent and he loves it!

  • Because of the knowledge that you have given us, our 3 1/2 year old is in a 5-point harness carseat. Thank you! You and your family will forever be in our thoughts and prayers.

  • That is so wonderful!!

I know the Millers and what they went through affected so many.

  • Thank you for sharing your knowledge on the 5 point harness. I'm so sorry for your loss, but know that this will help many other children.

  • Thank you for posting our interview.

  • It was the least I could do... to keep sending this important message of safety.

  • my condolences to the family.

  • Great video and info. I also have an Evenflo Triumph advance.

  • one note... the seat they show is the Evenflo Triumph Advance and goes to 35lbs rearfacing and 50lbs forward facing.

so for a midrange priced seat, it's a fabulous option to plan ahead and keep your child harnessed longer
