Redd Foxx and Lawanda Page were really good freinds and Demond Wilson first name was Grady and Redd really had a half brother named Fred Sanford that died.

This is one of my favorite episodes because it makes Esther look like she is not the righteous person she tries to condemn others for. On TV Land they substitute Esther saying "nigger" with "sucka' ". I have some of La Wanda Page's stand up records from the 1970's and she was definately the opposite of her character Esther. . . but just as funny! Sanford and Son was the Seinfeld of that era!
