I really cannot find a job. I'm not rioting the streets, but there's no jobs available where I am at all, my father who was the co-president of a large international company has been laid off and he can't even find a job anymore. I'm trying to get work so that I wouldn't have to turn to the government or spend anymore of my father's money when clearly money is a issue, but I've been rejected from everywhere. I grew up in a neighbourhood where cars used to be stolen, dumped and set on fire right outside my house on a weekly basis. One of the first things I was ever taught as a kid was not to pick up heroin needles, I've had friends who have been stabbed to death and I've known the people who have stabbed them. I've also seen 10 police officers beating up one guy and LAUGHING! I have seen one cop repeatedly slamming a man's face into a police car. I don't think lack of police power is the problem.

-Firearms are rare in the UK and don't justify arming more police
-Most police don't want to be armed anyway
-Police who ARE armed tend to be incompetent due to lack of training
-Police are also known to lie when they screw up, like in this case when the 9mm bullet in the policeman's radio came from the gun of another police officer. Also, Menendez.
-Drugs need decriminalising.

Here in the US and in the UK criminals still have guns. They don't abide by laws. The police can't get there fast enough to save your life in most cases, a gun is your best choice of defense against a drugged upped lunatic. I grew up in a neighbourhood where cars used to be stolen, dumped and set on fire right outside my house on a weekly basis. One of the first things I was ever taught as a kid was not to pick up heroin needles, I've had friends who have been stabbed to death and I've known the people who have stabbed them. I've also seen 10 police officers beating up one guy and LAUGHING! I have seen one cop repeatedly slamming a man's face into a police car. I don't think lack of police power is the problem.

Same thing happened with the LA Riots in '92. Rioters and looters show up, and police instantly flee. One big difference was that armed business/shop owners in Koreatown were able to hold off and "deter" mobs of rioters and looters, with one man claiming he and others fired an estimated 500 shots into the ground and air, preventing looting and arson, while numerous other shops down the street went up in flames.
