  • He did a great job weaving that tale... Thumbs up!

  • this sounds alot like the way my dad used to tell this story. My dad was an amiture actor. His name was Allen Campbell. If you can find any of his works, I believe that only the family has any surviving copies, It would be well worth the search.

  • @tauraluna, my dad and his brothers also could recite this and we were all touched by it as children. They were also WWII vets. Dad died 20yrs ago. Knowing his time was limited he obliged my siblings and I and recorded it on cassette. I so wish he would have done it on video but he was camera shy. Mr Wyman's family are so lucky to have this. I am so greatful they shared it with us. GREAT JOB MR. WYMAN!!!

  • My father & his two brothers could all recite this poem by heart. They all served in WWII in different parts of the military. Not one of them could finish it without their eyes filling with tears or their voice breaking. What a hauntingly lovely work of poetry.

  • God love him! He really feels the heart of this recitation! But he souds like James Stewart, which isn't a bad thing either! A bit of music in the background would have mad this better!

  • My grandma recites the same poem, she also does Robert Service poems and others. This is the first time I've seen someone recite like her :)

  • Wow! Love this rendition! What a moving story! Just wait, we are going to see this man in the movies. How inspiring!
