Most songs that can be considered masterpieces have two themes, not just one. Or they express their theme by speaking something else. It's a little like multi tasking in my opinion. But that's not emo that's just art. The problem with the word emo is that it's meaning is different for each person. mainly because emo doesn't really exist. It's just one of those crappy words that people use to tear another person down.

I totally agree - when people use the frase 'emo' they don't really know what they're saying. It's become a way of seeking out the deppressive as a way of sorting people into groups. The fact is - all people have feelings, and it's not synonymous with emo. When that's said. Mew makes really emotional music - nothing emo about it - and I think this is one of their most beautiful songs. If not THE most beautiful. I love the fact that music can make people feel something, - like Mew. :)

Haaha, it's funny that people think that, and kind of ironic to me! My best friend first showed me Mew two years ago because I used to be emo and she thought this was their "emo-est" music video, so she thought I'd relate to it. It's a good thing she did, because now I'm a die-hard Frenger! Go Mew!!! Hmm. I'm not sure it's emo such as theatrical. The whole video is very dramatic and exaggerated for a theatrical feel, and maybe they're just dressed to that effect.

Erm, actually that's all four of the originals. Johan, the bassist, left the band to be with his sweetheart Pernille when she had their baby. Bo, the guitarist, never left. They haven't replaced Johan either, though they do have a 'stand in' who tours with them etc.
