Well, I'd classify this as 'Contemporary classical music', if you consider "Classical music" as a synonym to "erudite music" or "art music" instead of "music from the Classical Period".

I've been listening to Yann Tiersen for quite some time ..but those other 2 I've never heard before. I'll give it a try later. Also be sure to listen do Win Mertens, mainly the songs: "struggle for pleasure", "close cover" and "4 Mains". I think you're gonna like it too, as all of the three (Tiersen, Nyman and Mertens) have a similar way of composing pieces... people label them as "minimalists".

@SokobanJr I have just listened to Wim Mertens 'Amazing' although I will say that ludovico einaudi will continue to be my favourite composer/player (not besause he is any better of a musician), I would definatly recommend both ludovico einaudi's Nuvole bianche and Yiruma's Kiss the rain... Enjoy!!!

I do not play classical music, I am not a "purist" of classical music, I play piano at a medium level and I need not show off a competence I do not have. But this is not classical music and honestly you could have simply admitted you used the wrong term instead of repeatedly accusing me of being picky. And by the way, it doesn't really matter what itunes lists because it also lists Rhianna as r'n'b when it clearly is not! ;)

i'm not going to admit that i am wrong when it could be either. i listen to this and i hear classical, people listen to Rhianna and hear RnB (WHY you are comparing Rhinna to a genius like Michael Nyman i do not understand...). i thought Rhianna was RnB. to be honest this is another silly argument about music genres i wish to no longer engage in, thank you very much.
