  • I have a rare disability, and people around me would rather not btalk about it or are in denial or tell me to be normal and do something with my life. i love to write poetry and want to write professionally, though when i express this they say that won't do and better get a proper job like in a supermarket or cleaning, but to me i'm worth better than that, just because i have a disability don't mean i'm not stupid.

i've been there and done that, and it's not for me. when will people accept us

  • Not sure how relevant this is but this song reminds me of my fathers suicide. I live in Maine (USA) and my state has a suicide rate higher than the national average. When despare, gloom, and hopelessness hits a Mainer there is usually only 1 way out occording to popular belief. It is thought that my grandfather also commited suicide. I'm 3rd generation that isn't going to follow suit and have faught against the grain. I'm not jumping!!! So you can shove your depression Maine!

  • Maybe, you should talk to someone. I was against talk therapy until I found the right person. And you can always talk to me. AWWW. I know it is easier to scoff than to help, but I mean it . I do not want another young person to go through what I went through alone. You may or may not be at the tilting point, and you will not be judged if you want to talk.

  • did you know that Bowie has refused to prosecute anyone spreading bootlegs etc, and now Bowie albums/songs are the most collectable on the planet. just go to ebay and see the silly prices that some of his music brings. I should know I one of the collectors. some of his stuff has sold for tens of thousands of dollars.

  • What is the impact in me for this song ?

  • Hi youtubers! I seem to remember seeing another video for this song, where David moves around projecting various spot lights, hand-held, it is a brilliant video, if anyone knows of its existence, could you confirm this, as I am sure I am not going mad and would like to see it again if anyone has it? Many thanks Phil

  • @phillawrence

  • Lol, retarded ass simpletons. Neither Bowie or Queen wrote Ice ice baby, they compose the beat that was remixed by DJ Earthquake. COMPOSE, NOT WRITTEN. Do you simpletons understand the difference. No? Ok, Vanilla Ice [Robert Van Winkle] wrote, key word, wrote the lyrics. You cannot write the freaking melody. Furthermore, it was just the bassline from Under Pressure. Hardly the grounds to say who wrote what, who compose what and who remixed what. It's a bass line. That's H/Ps ID.

  • wow I've been trying to find this song for ages and it takes me back from when I've heard this when I was really young. Thank you David Bowie.

  • I find, Where he wipes of his Mouth at 2:31, is reminisent of "boys Keep Swinging" Video where he wipes his mouth and smears his lipstick in such a gesture...Food for thought !

  • This is an undeniable masterpiece.

  • When I picked up my Mini Italian Job in 1993, this is the tape I listened to as I scuttled away.....groovy

  • @kirkwallboy this is an oft overlooked period in bowies music, but i well enjoyed it. BTWN was a good album.

  • @JayGOS117 Thanks. I loved the single. It had that laid back, in control, but still slightly out of this world Bowie feel. I will look out the album.

  • É um dos vídeos que mais gosto dele!

  • wtf you freak, take your bs drama somewhere else. I hope he does "carry it out" for all our sakes.

  • Adoro ele!

  • No the lyrics are about his half-brother Terry who was mentally ill and killed himself.

  • @panacea999 yep true shame. some dedication to him though........

  • Embedding disabled. WTF!!!

  • O yes, the lyrics question mass conformity... YAWN.

  • このpvでデヴィッド・ボウイのファンになりました。

    英語苦手だったけど本気で英会話習おうと思った。

  • i dream to say thank you to Bowie...he has change my life. really.

  • Significato profondo... data la motivazione della nascita di questa canzone...

è sempre dura andare contro al resto del mondo che ti vorrebbe giù!

Grande Bowie, dacci presto altra musica.

  • Jump (they say) was wrote 8 years after the suicide of Terry, brother of David Bowie, is so sad... you can see the sorrow and the anger For me Bowie is the greatest artist in the world ( is my opinion)

  • Suave elegance, great suit, song....the bastard...luv db

  • Kubrickfan1 Plus, you forgot beautiful eyes, sexy voice. he got it all :-))

  • "got to belieieieieieve somebody" ..........

    no you don't. ;D

  • Bowie in fine form with a great song. The video is great as well. Music and lyrics as ever intriguing. The image of the model in the white cap is straight from 2001: A Space Odyssey. I love it when Bowie retains his spacey metaphors because I grew up in that early severnties era when the exploration was all so exciting.

  • very lovely (3:08) model with a white cap on her head! does annyone know how she is?

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE. It reminds me a lot of Brazil!

  • Love this song! :D

  • bigger bowie fans than me probably already know this, but there is a time travel movie called la jetee that supplies some of the imagery in this music video. that said, i can't make much sense of the plot of this video even with that resource. any help?

  • People of youtube, Ulpoaders, artists who lets their songs spread freely amongst us. God bless you with fair sincerity and bright friendliness. You have made the internet worthwile for humans.

The love shared at last. You should be rewarded for that. Making the humans being humans again. The people of eatrh are youtube people. Grow, spread, hahaha, be free you are the rule.

  • Sept 29 2008 the DOW Falllllssssssss They press the 29th floor.

  • I wish this could be turned into a 2 hour movie!

  • So, honestly, I didn't love this album ... for many, many years, really. I thought the idea of the "wedding album" was corny (but maybe I was just jealous that Iman got him and I didn't). But now, especially after having having watched and analyzed this video for the thirtieth time, I realize I was wrong first time around. This album functions as a prelude to the epic masterwork that is Outside. And I am grateful for it.

  • Frankly, I have to say that for me it surpasses Outside. It took some time to grow on me too, but after listening to it alot it gradually dawned on me that it is among Bowie's finest albums ever. Actually, it is in my top four together with Hunky Dory, Low, and Scary Monsters.

  • You're right and it just doesn't get enough credit. I would no longer group Black Tie, White Noise with his lesser albums like Never Let Me Down and Hours; now for me it exists in that interstitial space between "perfection" and "meh," along with Reality, Absolute Beginners, Earthling, and Heathen. But each of these albums have their insanely high points, too, and the more I listen, the more I love them. But I'll never love "Volare (Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu)," I'm afraid ... it's horrible!

  • the rumour behind this video and song being that bowie found out late in life that he had a half brother in an institution who committed suicide by throwing himself off a roof......could not say if this true or not

  • David knew his elder brother Terry all of his life(terry was davids half brother to his mother, 10yrs older)His parents didn't let Terry live with them..But David basically worshipped Terry. Terry was the one who brought David to music by taking him into the city of London to see jazz musicians. The part of Terry being institutionalized is true (schizophrenia)and he tried to commit suicide 2times..succeeding the 2nd time. His song "the man who sold the world" is also supposed to be about terry

  • Thank you mate. Now I know!

  • Thanks for the info. Thats a breath-taking story.

  • yes it is

  • fuck,he is fantastic)))

  • This song made me Bowie fan when it first came out! I noticed especially his great voice, heard it over and over again. Loved it. :))

  • A 15 year old video but is still so modern. I myself am watching it after 13-14 years. Why do mass media block it? Thats why, Long live the Internet and youtube.

  • This is such an emotional song/video...it really touches you, especially if your going through a tough time. Spectacular masterpiece!

  • Amen... This is Brilliant!! It can not be more perfect!!!

  • a true masterpiece from both sides (music + video)
