As hasher22 said, the real and only truth about abs is low body fat. Anyone can get a sixpack just by losing body fat.
Also the only truth about losing wait is getting less calories in your body than you spend. Doesn't mather if you eat nothing but chips and candy, as long as you don't eat more calories than you spend, which is about 2000 btw.

Just to let you guys know. Ab workouts are important for back health, but not for getting a 6 pack. Eating well and doing a lot of cardio will reveal your abs by removing the fat that hide them. That is how you get a 6 pack. Ab workouts are not useless! They are important for core strength and they help prevent injury.
@OHHYESSAHH well i mean they arent using that stupid equipment, it isnt their primary ab exercise so yes they have somewhat of a six pack. but i see mostly runners doing it. personally i dont do it, but the times i have, i can feel it working the upper ab section. but thanks for the heads up about it hurting ur lower back...
@jsaca5519 yea it is good fr ur upper abs, but honestly, u work out ur upper abs if u simply brace them as u work out (any muscle) that's why many people have a '2 pack' because they actually don't target their abs as a proper muscle such as a bicep/tricep/back (any muscle) and so it's better to just focus (not solely of course!) on your lower abs with your ab workouts.
Glad you mentioned the lower back pain, cause i get that all the time, and im not fat or anything, im just not muscular. I have the iron gym so i do this, i just need to focuse on not swinging.
if you constantly train your muscles for endurance, you will lose the fat that's in between the muscles, but to lose the overall fat, cardio is definitely a good idea. although, it's not necessary, but in such a case you have to REALLY watch your diet, ie. eating the perfect amount of calories with high protein and fiber and low fat contents ;)
What do you mean by endurance? I understand the whole eating habits thing, what to eat and not to eat. But I've always heard ab exercises don't get you abs it's just cardio.
Any tips? I have a lot of core strength from training, but I still have a lot of fat. 140 pounds with 22% BODY FAT!! >=/
endurance like being able to consistently keep doing and doing and doing an exercise... long-distance runners train for running endurance, and I had built up a lot of endurance for the job that I used to do, and used to do it non-stop for like 8 or more hours at a time with no break
when you do start to do more exercises, some fat is burned off of that area, particularly in between the muscles. to make you slim there to see a sixpack, however, you do need to do cardiovascular exercise also

ab workouts like sit ups and crunches cant remove the belly fat. cardiovascular exercises are best to lower you body fat. If you dont have time then you should quit doing the sit ups and just do cardio.
Abs do not get rid of fat. You have to do that yourself. Eat nutritional. Try some laps. Burn more carbs than you take in carbs. Then, you can try situps. Also, instead of situps, try other ab workouts. Look up on youtube if you need additonal workouts for abs, trust me It'll be worth it.
