One of the greatest songs EVER! weird, stoned-out, creepy, sad, joyful, schizoid, demented. if it had been bowie or t.rex, this would've been a hit, i'm sure! alas, it was 'just' the fairies. man, if one of those emo-hair, skinny pants, 'supercool', fashionist indie outfits of today made a cover (don't ask. all those bands sorta seem the same to me), the tune would be on the charts and the fairies would get the royalsties they so richly desereve. read: 'keep it together', by rick deakin. yeah!

i saw the pinks many times in south wales in newport south wales

where i am from and in cardiff and the pagent rooms penarth

always a much better band live i am nearly 56 and still love their music

still remember a friday or saturday night with about 7 of us get has much

beer down our necks then go and see the pinks great days

the snake is still one of my fave 45s

'Kings of Oblivion' is a fantastic album. If I remember correctly it was recorded on Polydor. It was an incredible production job at the time. You could play it real loud without buggering up your Ditton 66's.

this gang is a/was a reference for top U.S Rock acts ranging from Iggy and the Stooges to Jello Biafra 's Dead Kennedys ....Don't forget when the Ig went to U.K for the Raw Power sessions, he(+James Williansom) want the Fairies rythm section which unfortunatly didn't work!!!So Iggy and James called back the Asheton bros back!!!! Nothing to add so ....oh yeah I saw them once (the february Roundhouse gig) and was very disapointed !!!!! anyway I love them!!! the Fairies are a seminal brit band ...

Saw the Fairies twice in the now defunct Liverpool Empire Stadium. Stayed over from Leeds so that I could see them.

I live in the states, so if they ever toured here I didn't see them, much to my regret. It was hard enough to find their albums in stores here in the states...what a shame.

When I saw them it was a quid for the Floyd and Hawkwind at Wembley. Ok The Stones were £1.65 in '73 and the Fairies were usually 50p [5 pints]

I'm not 50 ! But think the Pink Fairies are great unsung band. Like the Edgar Broughton Band, Juicy Lucy, The Groundhogs not got enuff public regonition, but the real 'edz' n that , they appreciate them and thats what counts.
