"For me, Big Sugar was the best thing that happened for Canadian Music in the 1990's...he was the first and last Canadian artist that inspired me to Play' Guitar well and look kool doing it!"
@lisalahue I obtained all the original videos on dvd that were transferred from old vhs copies. I only posted them as I received them because I figured fans would like them as they are very hard to come by.
If you want better quality, find some original source material and post it. Or better yet, go listen to the cd, assuming you already own them.
Gordie and Big sugar have given us a true interpretation of what delta blues must have been like back in the day of Elmore James and Robert Johnson. A true and honest out pouring of musical talent. Saw them first at the Rivoli and wish they continued with their classic course of blues but we have seen the transformation of Gordie Johnson with his Gibson semi hollow body tot he Hugo boss long haired rock star to Grady. Never has he lost his magic with a guitar. Big sugar is Blues
@ LarryChic: I too was blown away when this first started airing on Showcase...I kept going back and checking to see if it was playing again in between shows. I first saw it on a snowday, home from school in Grade 10 in 1992. One of my favs to this day.
How happy I was for them when Diggin a Hole made it big!
So awesome. Seen these guys live a bunch of times, including two nights in a row at the commodore in vancouver, and an extra special gig with the tea party in whistler. Then saw Gordie a few times with Grady.. they will stand all time as a classic.
This song has been my theme song since...actually I think since I was born. When was this song written? Well as long as I can remember any way, I grew up on big sugar, for the most part, not done growing yet, but still not done listening either. Hmm, what was my point again?
I've seen these guys three times. Wow, when he plays that doubleneck guitar. They now are so popular compared to when I started seeing them. Getting harder to see

That solo is absolutely transcendental! And one of the many reasons Gordie is one of my all time favorite guitar players...
