give them proper respect for trying. prop department seems to have worked very hard, and it was a valient performance however, nothing can be as good as the original. but congrats of a good performance
My school is doing this play on Friday and I'm playing Abby Brewster. I just think they could have used a little more expression, but I'm sure they were nervous cause I am.
umm... that sucked. the acting was terrible. the blocking, lighting, and everything else sucked. it made me lose a little love for the show. my high school's production was soooooo much better.
I was in this play at my school and I played Dr. Einstein. I try not to be critical but I felt that the majority of this play was underplayed on voice tone and body language. Especially The characters Johnathan, Einstein, and Teddy.
I'm Martha for my HS ^.^ Well... one of them. We had to double-cast for females and we still have some left over. Our set is kinda different, and our blocking it totally from scratch
Mortimer is pretty bland and boring. Speeds right through his lines. Hard to hear most of the people except for Teddy. The blocking needs to be less wooden0like. I don't mean to be over-critical, but it is always good to get feedback - good and bad.
The window box scene triple take looks as if it was taken directly from the film version. Try and block for yourselves and be creative, otherwise it looks as if you were parroting. Also, long awkward silence between "...dead body" and opening the window seat. When I played Mortimer in High School, I opened it as I said my line and I got rid of the silence.

Well.. there is like no acting done at all here lol
And Abby and Martha are supposed to be old, not in their 30's.
Poor blocking, poor lighting, very bad acting.. set is too modern to really be from the 1940's.
Just some things you might want to think about for future plays.
No offense or anything but it makes me feel pretty good about our production. :P
Teddy was good though. His charges could have been a bit more.. enthusiastic.

I normally try not to be mean with comments but:
1.)Dr. Harper is Elaine's FATHER not BROTHER.
2.)Awkward blocking.

I saw a high school production of A&OL when I was a kid, The big difference between that one
and this one is that you had people trying to act not sleepwalking.

I'm mortimer. Being a girl, this will be fun. I'm trying to convince my theatre teacher to set it in the 1980's. :]

This is garbage. These people can not act! This is a comedy not a nap. The actors sound all the same.
