After those 3, I dont see anyone else worth spending 2 hours of my Monday night watching. It's sad when Undertaker and Triple H can come back ONCE a year for 'Mania only so the WWE can have an audience. Imagine some of these guys headlining 'Mania...a joke. @Chase33 I dunno, I quite like that a lot of them just have names now as long as they're catchy enough names, it's the type of thing that wouldn't really be that noticeable of the quality was still there. If you hypothetically had a Joe Smith vs. Tom Williams and they were just great wrestlers and great on the mic, and were allowed to go out and show it who'd care about less gimmicks really? At the moment we get matches where the entrances last longer than the matches themselves half the time.

@TopDog69 I agree that the product put on television is more important but I think there was something magical behind the "characters." I mean wrestling was around in the 50's but when you had The Giant, Macho Man, Hulk Hogan type characters in the 80's it exploded. Then again in the mid-late 90's with The Rock, 'Taker, Kane, HBK, Stone Cold....DX...the list goes on. I really like Alberto Del Rio, CM Punk and The Miz right now..potential steps in the right direction.

@Chase33 Does seem like the WWE have a bit of a penchant for turning whatever characters they might have a bit more normal and just watered down. I mean Kane before he was unmasked was just a really great character, you bought in to him just being this monster because of the production for him and how he handled himself in promos and in the ring. Then they unmasked him and, honestly, when they did that my first reaction was to laugh, they did it so horribly, it just looked beyond stupid.

I remember waking up early on Saturday's just to watch Livewire. Although still popular, i think the WWE and McMahona have rested on their laurels. it costs more money to make smackdown live than to do surprises on Raw. Not to mention the whole point of smackdown is for the newer talent, so if they botch anything up its much easier to edit. And despite the fact that smackdown is his show, many people dont watch it on fridays. Friday is usually day when viewers catch a movie, go to dinner, and party somewhere. Not to sit at home and watch television, thats part of the reason why smackdown has low ratings. It had higher ratings on thursday.
