  • this is how i remember shows in Boston when i started going to shows (albiet a few years after this came out). Miss all those clubs shown in the intro.

  • I wish Dicky Barrett would get more credit for being able to withhold a voice as gravelly and powerful as this for this many years.

  • This Rocks!!! whatta great band!!!

  • I remember buying the album this songs off of last year and being like "wait the bosstones used to be metal??...oh wait theres the ska!" :D

  • this song is great because it has all the elements of great music. hard core rock, rippin leads with a ska core twist. two thumbs way the fuck up!

  • Went to see them but didn't about them then :D great band!!!:D

  • Saw them for the first time open up for Token Entry, probably around when this was released. The soundman was setting up like 8 mics and our crew were like 'the fuck is this!??". We had no idea what we were in store for, but it was all good.

  • @BadLuckBrett Hey Brett! Are you old Boston? My first show was Token Entry and Dag Nasty at TT's in '87. How the hell are ya?

  • @BlankTV Heya bro, yeah I've been around a while. Maybe too long if Token Entry was touring in 87, ooof!

Went to Babyhead in Providence as my main club, but did go to Boston often. The Boston dudes usually know me as Bad Luck Brett or Brett Dimwit.

I've come across lots of Smittys (I know hard to believe in Boston lol), but I'd be willing to bet we've crossed paths and shared a brew if you've been around since the good days.

    Great work on the site.

  • @BadLuckBrett Thanks, Brett! Any chance you're hoarding some old footage we need on this channel? It's getting slightly less fun for the old guys here, as the old footage is harder and harder to find...so we show all the new indie stuff, but it's not the same. Oh, and everyone thinks we're gay: punks, skins, heshers, goths, emos, retards...they are all in agreement that the channel is gay. Working a BlankTV rainbow t-shirt right now. :)

     Best, Smitty

  • so fuckin' awesome hahaha, first time i heard this song i DID NOT see that ska part comeing, i laughed my fucking ass off first time i heard it

  • The Bosstones used to play a skate park in my suburban area, Bellingham MA, when I was in High School. The park put on shows in the basement. When the Mighty, Mighty Bosstones played everyone went, which prompted the fire inspector to shut down the park's basement for code violation. The day after a Bosstones show there, kids with homemade t-shirts & hats everywhere. I've got nothing but good memories of the Bosstones.

  • @HecticBRage the 8-ball!!!!

  • @EddieRadil

    That's really low.

  • Your a tool Eddie. How cool would I be if I took one of your personal beliefs and made of mockery of it. Lets say your vegan, is it "funny" for me to throw meat all over you! I think not.

  • gotta try that one out xD

  • @idiot1321 i think it'd be hilarious

  • American Ska?

    Fucking good shit!

  • no, it's ska from the USA

jamaican ska is also american ska

  • man this is norwegian ska

    jamaican ska is rreagae

  • @FlameSquid yeah, well, we Europeans (and Euro-Americans) are incapable of inventing any new catchy beats since polka (and its mostly the Mexicans who still like that one). fact is, we mostly steal from other cultures and have fun with it, even if we take it in a totally different direction, which we usually do (sorry if I offended anyone, given this is YouTube, I probably did).

  • @gentlerat Fuck you! You offended me! Not really. Nice post. So true. :D

  • @FlameSquid Norwegian? Ska IS Jamaican. How is this Norwegian ska?

  • Technically, it is third wave ska.

  • well, they say "ska-core." 3rd wave is like the Toasters, poppy americanized ska music w/out the punk or metal.

  • Iono, toasters had crazy two tone sounds. Sure they helped start thrid wave, but that sound is gonna be two tone, always

  • you are wrong, third wave is characterized by many ska-punk bands

  • Awesome, just wish it was a better quality video.

  • i grew up listening to the bosstones and its good to hear them again

  • Same here. They have been back touring for awhile as well. Time to be a kid again. Its a little rough in the pit these days.....I'm afraid I'll break a hip. HeHeHe

  • @METHOS109

    Dude, it's a ska pit!

    BlankTV

  • lol

  • Third only to the Offs and Op Ivy for ska/core madness.

  • i love this song

  • Favorite song live. Much better live. Faster.

  • The Bosstones will always know how to blur the lines between true-grit rock and ska so perfectly.

I think thats why I love them so much.

  • I remember when they premiered this video at the Paradise in 1990, I believe. Takes me back...

  • this takes me back! glad to see MMB are back to wearing plaid! :D
