The best way to share a 3dmax file with after effects is to export the 3dmax animation as a PNG with embedded alpha. Then in AE, import png (make sure SEQUENCE) is checked. Then the individual frames will import alphabetically or numerically and you'll have preserved your alpha channel.

If you also want to import 3d camera data from max to ae, save your file out a as RLA file. Check my animation vids.

How do you import things from 3D Studio Max to After Effects?

The easiest way to do it is to render the 3D studio project as a series of pics in a file and then import the pic series into AE. If you need alpha, export as a PNG and make sure you have alpha channels selected in the pic setup. If you don't need alpha, jpeg without alpha for solid renders. Import the pic series into after effects, and there you go.

You import the rendered folder to after effects, and then it should use all your images as frames.

Does 3D Studio Max file itself can be imported on adobe after effects? Do I have to use a plug-ins for importing 3DsMax file to After effects? Where can I have and how to import 3D Studio Max file to after effects

no 3ds max dont give to the facility to import how project inside AE...

For that you should take help of 3rd party plugins...

you could use max to ae plugin for importing data to max in ae.

For shadow...

this effects is achieved by After effects and i imported the max lights position in ae then after this i put a comp size solid and place it as rings have... and i change the tranfermode of layer: just it ;)
