This is from the history channel. You do realise that they also show programmes on the 2012 'end of the world' and alien abductions. It's sad what happened to a once informative channel. Also, physicists predicted the temperature of the universe would as stated in the video if the big bang happened.
Yeah...inflation theory accounts for this quite handily. Of course I wouldn't expect the profoundly retarded to stay up to speed with the scientific community.
Perhaps science is rethinking. Is this such a bad thing though? Did Christianity not rethink the Book of Deuteronomy when it became unacceptable to condone stoning of homosexuals? Science is the quest for education and learning. This comes about through fairly and objectively testing hypotheses, not relying on an anti-humanist, 2000 year old book.
@olliemorris93 Christians didn't rethink anything. The stoning of homosexuals and adulterers stopped because Jesus came and died for our sins. We haven't rethought our religion...
I find it funny how they use the proposition "Is Science rethinking... again?" as a criticism of science. Oh yeah definitely, it's a bad thing when science adjusts its facts to account for new discoveries and new evidence.
nice to see that cameron and his christian retards... oops i mean cronies are still using distorted and misunderstood versions of the Big bang. Actually the universe's averaged temperatures are dictated during the expansion phase. The expansion happened so fast that the atoms were roughly dispersed with amazing accuracy throughout the entire fabric of the universe and it is now expanding in all directions from all points. This is a phenomenon that our 3D brains do not comprehend well.
@DaBluedude100 we r constantly told tht all of the matter(or potential matter) in the universe was crowded into a period sized dot b4 the bigbang. on the other hand we r told tht matter didnt exist b4 the bigbang. hence, we have a problem bcuz we r being told tht something tht didnt exist actually did exist, but it wasnt matter like we have today. we r told tht b4 the bigbang, atoms didnt exist, only elements of atoms. it is interesting to note tht the "evolution of matter" is suggested here....
@DaBluedude100 Then, like something from a childrens story, the subatomic particles knew how to get together to form atoms, and from there molecules. now, wht the scientists r reluctant to state is tht they r great at splitting atoms and making subatomic particles, but tht is all they have done. they have nevr made an atom out of those particles. now if ppl who r supposed intellectuals cant perform such a fete than how can things tht have no thought or will to do so accomplish it??
@DaBluedude100 we have been taught tht matter and time r intertwined, so much so tht one cannot exist without the other. this is a true statement and can be best exhibited by the reality of the "atomic clock", which science touts as the most exact measurement of time evr invented. the reason tht this can be done is due to the fact tht time is measured by the cesium 133 atom. seeing tht time and matter both hold each other up, it would be impossible for there to be time b4 any supposed bigbang...
@DaBluedude100 yet we still have evolutionists telling us tht there was time b4 the bigbang. remember as mentioned b4, tht science says tht tht lil dot tht would some day become the bigbang was spinning. now tht we have determined tht there was no time b4 any bigbang, thn how could there have been "spinning"? spinning denotes time and there was no time. evrything tht spins can be measured, whether it be revolutions per minute, second or evn nanosecond, so how could spinning occur?simple, it cant
@DaBluedude100 spinning requires a mass to spin, yet there were no atoms so there could not have been any mass. it becomes more ridiculous the more u look at it. let's remember tht this was supposed to be an explosion. all explosions require an ignition source. some might argue tht friction inside the whirling dervish might have been one, but there were no atoms, so there could have been no friction. some might suggest some sort of nuclear explosion, but there were no atoms yet.....
@DaBluedude100 fusion and fission can only happen where atoms exist. there r specific laws tht govern the universe, just as there r rules tht govern everyday life. evry law has a lawgiver. humanity has laws bcuz mankind was given free will by its creator. after the fall of Adam which introduced lawlessness into the world laws became a requirement. the universe on the othr hand does not have a will of its own no matter how much some religions try to say it does.
@DaBluedude100 the first 2 laws of thermodynamics r an established fact, heralded by science to be true until the evolution of the universe and life on Earth r concerned. in laymens terms the 2 laws state: 1) tht the total quantity of energy in the universe remains constant. this is the principle of the conservation of energy. 2) tht the quality of this energy is degraded irreversibly. this is the principle of the degradation of energy.
@DaBluedude100 hence to explain it in evn more simple terms, "the total energy of the universe is constant, but it cant decay unless more energy is added to keep it going." my best way of imagining this is an automobile. lets say tht i just bought a new truck and had it delivered to my driveway. now here is a machine tht has the ability to do a lot of work. work will not be performed unless i turn the key and introduce an electric current to the coil, which goes to the spark plugs....
@DaBluedude100 in the meantime, the fuel pump sends gasoline to the explosion chamber. whn the spark meets the fuel/air mixture it pushes the piston down, causing the crank to turn, which in turn causes the transmission to transmit power to the wheels tht cause the truck to move. now lets suppose i decide i dont wanna maintain the truck. about tht 4th or 5th yr things r going to start to go wrong with the machine. bcuz i didnt wash it or wax it the paint finish starts to corrode..
first it will oxidize thn finally the metal will start to rust. i nevr changed the coolant hoses so they r now leaking. the oil wasnt changed and tht caused the piston tings to wear and some of the seals to decay. bcuz i neglected the truck and didnt perform work in order to maintain it, i have allowed entropy to happen more rapidly thn if i would have applied work and effort during the 5yrs ihave owned it. we see this process evrywhere we look.
as a matter of fact, almost evryone employed all ovr the earth r employed bcuz of the effects of entropy. nothing evr gets better and evrything, if left to itslef, will decay and die. do we atleast agree on tht? well thn, how is it thn tht so many believe the lie of evolution, both here on earth and out in the universe? if evolution were true, thn it would fly in the face of the law of thermodynamics. life could nevr have evolved on earth bcuz the odds would be stacked against it.
@LexutheDragonLily yes thank you lex.. but seeing as how i'm only alotted so much space for a comment, and seeing how i had so much to say i thought it best to shorten it as much as possible.. i offer an unpretentious apology for affronting you with my ignorant neglegence of how you prefer others to type.. i will, from now on, deem your way of doing things as the absolute best way of doing things.. i should be more attentive to others' feelings regarding the way of using a keyboard. plz forgv me
@DaBluedude100 the universe would have crumbled bcuz energy would have decreased enough in these supposed billions of yrs bcuz there was no one to maintain it. and finally, science seems to be saying, "yes, we believe in thermodynamics, but not where evolution is concerned." there is no way tht evolution can skip specific scientific laws tht evry othr process in science and life r bound to..
@MrDeadmanwalking44 A corollary to the second law of thermodynamics is that the entropy (not disorder, per se) of a closed system will tend to increase over time. Note, however, that Earth is NOT a closed system; we are constantly bombarded with energy from the Sun, allowing for local thermodynamic potentials and therefore for work. The entropy of the solar system as a whole, however, is in indeed increasing with time, and if left to its own devices, will one day become unsuitable for life.
the answer is simple, the universe grew, thus the temp should be equal, pull the plug on Theisum. This is likly a quoit mine as Way of the Master is know for doing
Changing ideas and opinions and views based upon new information isn't a bad thing. It is a sign of intellectual maturity and should be admired, not condemned.
you're making a joke of yourself, how stupid can you be? the only thing you might proof is that you're a manipulative sob taking things out of context to proof whatever it is you're trying to proof
you don't even know what an atheist is, apperently
Science is fundamentally about doing research that is to look again and make sure what you thought was right actually is to constantly search for the truth not some dogma. The fact that they are re thinking is what makes it so credible!
If the universe is all roughly the same temperature it just means it's probably much older than thought. It had time to equalize. It's the only thing that makes sense.
Better yet, who says there had be a beginning or has to be an end? It CAN be infinite. The current mindset of humans makes infinite seem unattainable. But there's nothing ruling out an eternal universe. Hell, if God can be eternal, why couldn't the universe also be?
I love it when people mistakes on who an atheist is. An atheist is someone who doesnt believe in a god. Or atleast religions definition of god. They think all atheists ''believe'' in science. Im an Atheist but i dont believe in the big bang. I sort of believe in Evolution but it still has some unanswered aspects. I dont believe in Religion's god because its silly and is illogical AND contradictory..
Of course, "thermal equalibrium" isn't a "problem" either, given the the "BB" posits a SINGULARITY of infinite density, constant energy (heat) , and zero mass, EXPANDING into an "infinity" of constant temperature(absolute zero).
Intuition alone, would suggest that thermal equalibrium, actually confirms BB theory. given the known quantities, and the nature of what is hypothesised about it!
Scientists revise their conclusions based on new evidence?! That's preposterous! We should all just pick a conclusion and stick with it no matter how much evidence piles up against it. Yeah, we should all be creationists!
If you believe in YEC thru faith, fair enough that's your perogative. But please don't try to spin and twist genuine science to support it. If your faith is strong enough why feel the need?
Atheism has no problem with the unknown. An athiest who chooses not to listen to the proposed answer (inflation) still does not have to invoke a magic misogynist child molesting mass murderer as the only possible alternative.
I don't get this fundamental idiots. I hapen to be the atheist, but nor evolution (which is fact, and you should study it in details) not big bang can prove that there is or there isn't god. Many people think that God is behind big bang and evolution and believe trust science (you cannot "believe in science, science is NOT metaemphirical entity"). And why should anybody pull the plug on atheism, that means I cannot believe in what ever I want. RESIST people.
I'd also like to add that even if a better theory than the big bang came along, this would do nothing to discredit atheism. Atheism existed well before the big bang theory came about.
About the Bible, one can of course say that there are many things, especially in the Old Testament, that are not stated explicitly clear, due to symbolism and metaphors - but the the fact that the Bible hits a stunning home run in its first sentence is something that one cannot just skip over.
"... since [the Big Bang] theory was presented in the early 20th century."
That is, of course, if you omit the fact that the Bible has taught this - that the entire universe has been created, in the face of what has been philosophically and at that time scientifically correct - some thousand years before modern science discovered it! The Bible also speaks about "the heavens" being continuously "stretched out", BB-style.
What irony! Big Bang presented as if it supports atheism?
Some folks believe that BB is about a "bang", while in reality it is about the creation of the universe, the startling idea that the universe is not eternal but once came into existence. Even the name "Big Bang" was made to ridicule the idea about the universe being created.
Since atheists don't like the concept of creation, BB has been a painful thorn in their side since the theory was presented in the early 20th century.
Of course. Science is constantly improving, questioning, adjusting, and searching for better answers. Aquire evidence, experimentally test hypothesis, look for alternative explanations, and repeat . . .
That is the scientific method. The fact that measurements don't fit the predictions of a given theory is exciting, interesting and will lead to scientific improvements. What does this have to do with Ray Comforts' anti-science non-think?
this comment has nothig to do with athiesm or religion just a point: its also thought that the speed of light has not always been constant,if the speed of light was faster or slower in the early universe that would mean that the rate at which we calculate time/distance today would not give an accurate result
To be honest I think that this video is interesting a stresses some good points about how the universe may have formed, also I found it interesting that the universe has the same general temperature. If the Big Bang happened Billions of years ago then then you'd think the universe would have variously large differences in temperature through out the cosmos.
Who ever said that the universe ever did have differing temperatures?
Also, it says in the video "Atheism's Problem with a 14 billion Year-old Universe" but atheism has absolutely nothing to do with the age of the universe.
Wow, what a fail. Obviously they only used a small clip of the program, because this "problem" has had a nice explanation for quite a while now. It's also pretty stupid to "complain" that science is re-thinking things because, um, that's what science does, isn't it? It finds problems and then solves them. Science is ALWAYS "rethinking" things, that's how it corrects and refines itself. This is a GOOD THING.
Stupid religous nutters. Please go back to your caves.
discarding that fact science really don't have anything to do with atheism. The aim of science is not to come up with fool-proof facts. Science comes up with theories, and then test them in attempt to prove them wrong, and if proven wrong build upon that and come up with a better theory, and the process continues. It's not "insulting" to prove a theory wrong (IF YOU ACTUALLY DO.) it's actually a helpful development.
So, if the Universe is 6,000 years old then why do we see stars???
If the speed of light is constant, 186,282 miles per second then how is it possible to see stars millions of light years away? If god moved the light to earth when he created the Universe then why do we still see stars, that light would have past us a long time ago.
If a creationist could answer me this question, i would be grateful.
Even though you didn't show the part explaining this phenomenon, I'll still comment on your ignorant comments on the end. Science is ALWAYS RETHINKING! THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT! That's what separates it from religion!! We will never know everything.But science is based on hypotheses, and then using facts to prove or disprove them.As we get more information, we can create more hypotheses to create the best explanations we can, based on the FACTS.Oh, right, religious people don't like those.
Actually refuting any specific scientific theory does absolutely nothing to refute atheism. Atheism is only a lack of belief in god or gods. Atheism has nothing to do with the big bang or evolution or any other specific theory.
No, science is not rethinking it. The history channel was merely giving a history of the evidence for the age of the universe. I for one have watched this special in its entirety. If thewayofthemaster truly has nothing to hide, I suggest posting the remainder of the segment instead of cutting if off to make it seem like science is uncertain.
I've seen this documentary and it went on to explain the reason for this, in other words it said when we saw a problem we adjusted our views, unlike some people
The universe is all the same temp? From the core of supernovas, where it is hot enough to fuse heavy elements to the almost absolute zero of interstellar space seems like a rather wide range of temperatures. Still, questioning scientific theories is a good thing, and only makes them stronger. I would like to see these "way of the master" people subject their own bizarre beliefs to the same critical attention.
@Dinhel For example, search the user UCBerkeley. The university films their physics lectures and posts them online. Youtube is not just for entertainment.
I seemed to have failed in my point. What I meant by "youtube is for entertainment, not a basis of education."Wasn't that there was no good information to be found. Granted that it can be difficult sometimes, and there is plenty of misinformation on here. But rather, when you find or are presented somthing interesting. Say dealing with the bigbang. Your answer shouldn't be just "hey, let me youtube more on this". It has to involve more indepth study.
LOL, why would atheism have a problem if the Universe wasnt 13-14 billion yrs old? The age of the Universe has nothing to do with the disbelief in your or any God! Is it the lack of education or simple dishonesty that stops you people from understanding these things? Why dont you try opening a factual book for a change!
@Dinhel I agree that education should be drawn from books and not random nutjobs on the internet, however youtube is FAR from just for entertainment. It is a tool used to spread ideas. Countless channels are dedicated to political commentary, filled with video rebuttals. Youtube is, among other social web apps, becoming the new towns square. Just like the towns square, there are tons of normal people, a few highly educated, and the towns idiot yelling about nonsense, much like the creator here.
The religious problem with a 6000 year old universe: 1. fossils 2. Carbon dating 3. Techtonic plates 4. star light taking billions of year to reach us 5. Biology 6. Physics 7. Geology 8. Astronomy 9. Chemistry 10. Math BUT.. .the religious have an old book that talks about 800 year old men building an ark with 2 over every animal, and that the earth is 6000 years old, so it MUST be true, and all sciences my be wrong, despite mountains of evidence......... NOT!!
The religous LOVE it when they find a mystery, because they live in ignorance and don't want Science to work things out because it scares them so much that it's another mystery solved.
Conclusion....there will ALWAYS be mysteries to solve, and the religious will claim that =god
Atheists are not atheists because the universe is about 14 billion years old. I feel the point is being missed, it is not faith in science that makes atheists and questioning science is part of the scientific process itself. I would not watch this video and say to myself 'You mean science is can't explain everything? I better start believing in God". I do happen to believe in God, but if I didn't this would be a poor rationale for me to change my view.
Painkilersman You say the bible interpretation is different not the translation and depending on who the person asks as to what answer they will get
That is called relativism. Bible makes it clear that relativism is nonexistent within the context of truth. Truth is truth. The bible says that it should be its own interpreter. It also tells us what is to be taken metaphorically and literally. It seems you havent read those bits so your conclusion is based on missing information thus out of context
They forgot to finish the clip where it explains it? It's called INFLATION. The universe is expanding, from every point, in every direction. This has been known for 60+ years. Thumbs up if you agree the maker of this video lacks any knowledge of the subject.
@BrokedDownPalace I think the problem is that the video maker *doesn't* lack knowledge. How could they? How could they make this video and not notifce what came after the clip? They're not ignorant, they're dishonest.
science is always rethinking, constantly revising and changing their beliefs. On the other hand there is the unchanging, infallible word of God which has withstood time.
@painkillerzman Another uneducated evo fundie. Look up the dead sea scrolls before you regurgitate rubbish you heared from other people. They are the original manuscripts of the bible which match word by word to todays King James Bible.
@kobasica I did not say ANYTHING about translation, I said the INTERPRETATION changed a lot. There are some obscure passages that the church used to take literally that are now used metaphorically.
Of course, which passages should be taken literally and which passages should be taken metaphorically depends on the person you are asking but there seems to be a general consensus amongst various christian organizations.
Oh, and no need to be rude. I thought Jesus was against that kind of thing.
Creationists have ZERO proof of any of their bullshit theories. What they do is find the small mistakes made by scientists and inflate and over-exaggerate them.
so then you have inflation which explains that the universe expanded faster than the speed of light which would explain the uniform temperature. Burn in your fake hell jackass
Idiots. Science always re-thinks based on new evidence and proof. Given new data, new hypotheses are generated so as to get as close to the truth as possible, unlike religion.
Christian propaganda strategy Alpha: 1.) Take quote from respected source 2.) remove all context 3.) posit some moronic conclusion based on bronze age beliefs 4.) profit from your victims every sunday through the offering plate.
Comforts begins this video with his classic ignorant style. "Atheisms Problem with a 14 billion year universe." Why is he assuming that as an atheist this is what I believe. Isn't is a problem for science? Not atheists? Is science re-thinking again? That's your argument Ray? Well if Ray wants his 6-10,000 year old universe that was created by God only for us does he have to flat out deny that the stars we look at every night's light wouldn't be here yet? Of course he does.
The stupidity and ignorance makes me want to punch this 8year old in the face!!! It actually aggravates me that he is so dumb he can find ways to contstrew this basic message to some sort of idiotic strike against science A mentally deficient autistic child could literally understand this concept better than you with a little brain power. The universe is infinitely large therefore billions of years may seem big to you but there's no possible amount of time to distribute something across infinity
The more you think about the "why's" in life the more you are lead away from the "what's" for example; don't think about "why" we are here but think about "what" it is we must do here. Its much easier to do the ladder as well since its all written down in a neat little book called the bible.
This is one of the funniest examples of quote mining I've ever seen. Like a show on the History channel is really going to present a legitimate challenge to mainstream science, let alone even present a view contrary to mainstream science. Also, I wonder if they know the difference between when a theory is wrong and when a theory is incomplete.
This clip is clearly taken out of context. After this clip, they continue to talk about the Inflationary model/theory. It turns out that Inflation solves this problem and many other problems that the Big Bang theory can't explain by itself. It turns out that, as scientists continue to gather more and better observations of the universe, these observations continue to support the Big Bang theory with Inflation more and more.
this Pull the plug on Atheism.com website is really an exercise in arrogance in stupidity. Who ever is operating this website must really need to get a life!!!!
this video isn't at all saying anything against atheism. So what if the general temp of the universe isn't at all even in the farthest ends of the universe??? It doesn't also imply necessarily that there is God!!! It just says that the temp is not even. that's all!!!
@sum1unxpected yah but people don't even believe that the universe had a big bang to begin with, but rather was created which if it were all created, the universe can be young and not old.
nope, if the universe was created only 10,000 years ago then we wouldn't be able to to see anything over 10,000 light years away, and that clearly isn't the case.
unless you say that god designed the universe to look as though it's 14.6 billion years old, which doesn't really help your point.
It's not for sure...it's an assertion based on several more, and the process of extrapolatin' nearly 15 billion years ago. Now that to me is very difficult to do, but nevertheless...it seems to be the most credible answer; although, we'll never know unless we die and see God or invent a time machine. The old universe is supported by the ability to see stars millions of light years away...meanin' it took millions of years for that light to get here.
The point is, it's not a "fact", but the evidence supports it. You can't really define it as a fact, for the simple...fact, that we cannot witness it, nor can we travel back to the beginning of time which makes a pretty cool philosophical argument pertainin' to time travel. Anyhow...I'm a Christian, but I accept the Big Bang theory, because there's no evidence for a young universe...as far as I know, and it's not against biblical teachings for an old universe.
Ironic that Science has given us engineering to construct churches and electronic printers to make millions of bibles every year and yet the religious among us don't spend much of their time congratulating scientists for their hard work. Instead they mock them with videos like this one. I am embarrassed by you, truly.
"Atheism has a problem if the universe is 14 billion years old."
As if the Bible doesn't somehow allow for a more dynamic or alternative explanation. Its not a modern idea that Genesis can be interpreted as different from a face value approach. If we limit ourselves to one dogmatic interpretation, we may end up in a situation of unnecessary ashamedness, if we are proven wrong. Perhaps we should widen our horizons as Christians. Whatever though, I'm just a humanist, demon possessed, "liberal".
@ripemind We wouldn't have the scientific knowledge we do today if it weren't for the 17th century Christian European scientists who believed in a rational, logical universe created by a logical God..........Science and Theism are not mutually exclusive principles........Faith in God, leads a person to believe in a rational universe
@satanisthetruegod666 I'm just curious from your screen name.......correct me if I'm wrong.......do you believe in the supernatural, and worship Satan instead of God?
I don't keep track of the various philosophies, but I'm just guessing that a naturalist is someone who believes if you can't observe it, it doesn't exist, in which case i would say: for the most part yes, but i know we haven't and at this point cannot observe any other universes but I don't necessarily reject their existence because there are hypothesis which could explain their existence and which may even predict their existence.
@satanisthetruegod666 What if within our lifetime, we do not find any evidence of any other universes? Or what if we do? Doesn't this universe or other universes ultimately require an explanation?
if we don't find any evidence then we still don't have any evidence, if we do then it helps to validate the hypothesis that would predict other universes. (By the way those hypothesis give ways that those universes would come into existence.)
It`s ironic, I fully agree with you, but, the "Scence" also tell us that humans descend from one of those weird worm like cambrian marine cretures, and that is not science, so I won`t congratulate anybody teaching such a ludicrous claim, on the contrary I`ll mock and ridiculize such a scientist, if any...
So I`m very embarrassed too that smart scientists believe and teaches such a crap as it were science...
@realhomosapiens how is that more ludacrous than human popping out of nowhere (god made them out of nothing) evolution makes a hell of alot more sense than religion does.
Even it could be demostrated that God does not exist, even then, the claim made on the theory of evolution that one of those weird cambrian marine creatures very slowly evolved into humans let alone all the creatures along the road will remain as the greatest stupid claim ever made in the name of science, espero me entiendas?
Réal, on cdk's abiogenesis it was explained to you in lenght, evidence shown and proof made, if you are unable to accept reality, then you are the stupid one, not the scientist, not the whole domain of biology. Evolution is proven, deal with it.
Evolution is proven? hmmm, so for you has been proven that your grandaddy is one of those weird cambrian marine creatures, right? if that is the case enjoy it, because that´s ultimately what your scientific myth, sorry theory claims and actually that´s exactly what every single biology professor teaches as a fact in every single class room in the world...nevertheless for me that is greatest stupidity of humankind ever made in the name of science...
Réal, if you wanted a name, then here : Pierolapithecus catalaunicus.
But as usual, you'll deny, and then go one about weird cambrian creature, using tired analogy from venom fang X and, eventually, stop talking completely because you won't have any arguments/counter arguments.
I know that, but it does not change my argumentation a bit...something you can not even grasp, if you did, you wouldn´t make this comment, but that aside...
Now back to business...There is a supposed ancestor that diverged into chimps and humans? What this population of creatures was alike?
Did you notice?, changing the word guy to population doesnot make you capable of answering it, prove me wrong, if you can...jajajajajajaja
Actually, it does change your argumentation. A single individual and a population are two different things. If you understood how speciation occurred then you'd understand. But since you are unable to grasp the concept of speciation, then it makes you unable to understand the answer.
That population shared similar traits, limited bipedal movement,thumbs, primate features.
This is from the history channel. You do realise that they also show programmes on the 2012 'end of the world' and alien abductions. It's sad what happened to a once informative channel. Also, physicists predicted the temperature of the universe would as stated in the video if the big bang happened.

Actually the temperature of the universe was just as predicted by science.

Perhaps science is rethinking. Is this such a bad thing though? Did Christianity not rethink the Book of Deuteronomy when it became unacceptable to condone stoning of homosexuals? Science is the quest for education and learning. This comes about through fairly and objectively testing hypotheses, not relying on an anti-humanist, 2000 year old book.
olliemorris93 4 months ago
@olliemorris93 Christians didn't rethink anything. The stoning of homosexuals and adulterers stopped because Jesus came and died for our sins. We haven't rethought our religion...

I find it funny how they use the proposition "Is Science rethinking... again?" as a criticism of science. Oh yeah definitely, it's a bad thing when science adjusts its facts to account for new discoveries and new evidence.

MrDeadmanwalking44 4 months ago
@DaBluedude100 spinning requires a mass to spin, yet there were no atoms so there could not have been any mass. it becomes more ridiculous the more u look at it. let's remember tht this was supposed to be an explosion. all explosions require an ignition source. some might argue tht friction inside the whirling dervish might have been one, but there were no atoms, so there could have been no friction. some might suggest some sort of nuclear explosion, but there were no atoms yet.....
MrDeadmanwalking44 4 months ago
@DaBluedude100 fusion and fission can only happen where atoms exist. there r specific laws tht govern the universe, just as there r rules tht govern everyday life. evry law has a lawgiver. humanity has laws bcuz mankind was given free will by its creator. after the fall of Adam which introduced lawlessness into the world laws became a requirement. the universe on the othr hand does not have a will of its own no matter how much some religions try to say it does.
MrDeadmanwalking44 4 months ago
@DaBluedude100 the first 2 laws of thermodynamics r an established fact, heralded by science to be true until the evolution of the universe and life on Earth r concerned. in laymens terms the 2 laws state: 1) tht the total quantity of energy in the universe remains constant. this is the principle of the conservation of energy. 2) tht the quality of this energy is degraded irreversibly. this is the principle of the degradation of energy.
MrDeadmanwalking44 4 months ago
@DaBluedude100 hence to explain it in evn more simple terms, "the total energy of the universe is constant, but it cant decay unless more energy is added to keep it going." my best way of imagining this is an automobile. lets say tht i just bought a new truck and had it delivered to my driveway. now here is a machine tht has the ability to do a lot of work. work will not be performed unless i turn the key and introduce an electric current to the coil, which goes to the spark plugs....
MrDeadmanwalking44 4 months ago
@DaBluedude100 in the meantime, the fuel pump sends gasoline to the explosion chamber. whn the spark meets the fuel/air mixture it pushes the piston down, causing the crank to turn, which in turn causes the transmission to transmit power to the wheels tht cause the truck to move. now lets suppose i decide i dont wanna maintain the truck. about tht 4th or 5th yr things r going to start to go wrong with the machine. bcuz i didnt wash it or wax it the paint finish starts to corrode..
MrDeadmanwalking44 4 months ago
first it will oxidize thn finally the metal will start to rust. i nevr changed the coolant hoses so they r now leaking. the oil wasnt changed and tht caused the piston tings to wear and some of the seals to decay. bcuz i neglected the truck and didnt perform work in order to maintain it, i have allowed entropy to happen more rapidly thn if i would have applied work and effort during the 5yrs ihave owned it. we see this process evrywhere we look.
MrDeadmanwalking44 4 months ago
as a matter of fact, almost evryone employed all ovr the earth r employed bcuz of the effects of entropy. nothing evr gets better and evrything, if left to itslef, will decay and die. do we atleast agree on tht? well thn, how is it thn tht so many believe the lie of evolution, both here on earth and out in the universe? if evolution were true, thn it would fly in the face of the law of thermodynamics. life could nevr have evolved on earth bcuz the odds would be stacked against it.

MrDeadmanwalking44 3 months ago
@DaBluedude100 the universe would have crumbled bcuz energy would have decreased enough in these supposed billions of yrs bcuz there was no one to maintain it. and finally, science seems to be saying, "yes, we believe in thermodynamics, but not where evolution is concerned." there is no way tht evolution can skip specific scientific laws tht evry othr process in science and life r bound to..
MrDeadmanwalking44 4 months ago
@MrDeadmanwalking44 A corollary to the second law of thermodynamics is that the entropy (not disorder, per se) of a closed system will tend to increase over time. Note, however, that Earth is NOT a closed system; we are constantly bombarded with energy from the Sun, allowing for local thermodynamic potentials and therefore for work. The entropy of the solar system as a whole, however, is in indeed increasing with time, and if left to its own devices, will one day become unsuitable for life.

PS: I'm still atheist, video or no video. LOL

I love it when people mistakes on who an atheist is. An atheist is someone who doesnt believe in a god. Or atleast religions definition of god. They think all atheists ''believe'' in science.

About the Bible, one can of course say that there are many things, especially in the Old Testament, that are not stated explicitly clear, due to symbolism and metaphors - but the the fact that the Bible hits a stunning home run in its first sentence is something that one cannot just skip over.
MindTheHeart 9 months ago
I almost forgot...
"... since [the Big Bang] theory was presented in the early 20th century."
That is, of course, if you omit the fact that the Bible has taught this - that the entire universe has been created, in the face of what has been philosophically and at that time scientifically correct - some thousand years before modern science discovered it! The Bible also speaks about "the heavens" being continuously "stretched out", BB-style.
MindTheHeart 9 months ago
MindTheHeart 9 months ago
"Is science rethinking, again?"

To be honest I think that this video is interesting a stresses some good points about how the universe may have formed, also I found it interesting that the universe has the same general temperature. This is a GOOD THING.

discarding that fact science really don't have anything to do with atheism.

@sum1unxpected yah but people don't even believe that the universe had a big bang to begin with, but rather was created which if it were all created, the universe can be young and not old.
starsheild7 1 year ago
@starsheild7
nope, if the universe was created only 10,000 years ago then we wouldn't be able to to see anything over 10,000 light years away, and that clearly isn't the case.
unless you say that god designed the universe to look as though it's 14.6 billion years old, which doesn't really help your point.
sum1unxpected 1 year ago
@starsheild7
DandBMonk 1 year ago
@starsheild7
DandBMonk 1 year ago

Whatever though, I'm just a humanist, demon possessed, "liberal".
v01741r31 1 year ago
@ripemind We wouldn't have the scientific knowledge we do today if it weren't for the 17th century Christian European scientists who believed in a rational, logical universe created by a logical God..........Science and Theism are not mutually exclusive principles........Faith in God, leads a person to believe in a rational universe
ChiefClickClack 1 year ago
@ChiefClickClack
it can but that doesn't mean it inevitably does, it can also lead one to reject all rational thought as these IDiots have.
satanisthetruegod666 1 year ago
@satanisthetruegod666 I'm just curious from your screen name.......correct me if I'm wrong.......do you believe in the supernatural, and worship Satan instead of God?
ChiefClickClack 1 year ago
@ChiefClickClack
no i don't, it's a remnant from when i did.
satanisthetruegod666 1 year ago
@satanisthetruegod666 I'm curious to what you do believe?.......Are you a strict naturalist?
ChiefClickClack 1 year ago
@ChiefClickClack
I don't keep track of the various philosophies, but I'm just guessing that a naturalist is someone who believes if you can't observe it, it doesn't exist, in which case i would say: for the most part yes, but i know we haven't and at this point cannot observe any other universes but I don't necessarily reject their existence because there are hypothesis which could explain their existence and which may even predict their existence.
satanisthetruegod666 1 year ago
@ChiefClickClack
however i do not believe in any deities or spirits or the supernatural in general.
satanisthetruegod666 1 year ago
@satanisthetruegod666 What if within our lifetime, we do not find any evidence of any other universes? Or what if we do? Doesn't this universe or other universes ultimately require an explanation?
ChiefClickClack 1 year ago
@ChiefClickClack
if we don't find any evidence then we still don't have any evidence, if we do then it helps to validate the hypothesis that would predict other universes. (By the way those hypothesis give ways that those universes would come into existence.)
satanisthetruegod666 1 year ago
@ripemind
So I`m very embarrassed too that smart scientists believe and teaches such a crap as it were science...
realhomosapiens 1 year ago
@realhomosapiens how is that more ludacrous than human popping out of nowhere (god made them out of nothing) evolution makes a hell of alot more sense than religion does.
shadowtygo 1 year ago
@shadowtygo
Even it could be demostrated that God does not exist, even then, the claim made on the theory of evolution that one of those weird cambrian marine creatures very slowly evolved into humans let alone all the creatures along the road will remain as the greatest stupid claim ever made in the name of science, espero me entiendas?
realhomosapiens 1 year ago
@realhomosapiens
Réal, on cdk's abiogenesis it was explained to you in lenght, evidence shown and proof made, if you are unable to accept reality, then you are the stupid one, not the scientist, not the whole domain of biology. Evolution is proven, deal with it.
Atharkas 1 year ago
@Atharkas
Hi, nice to hear you again...
Evolution is proven? hmmm, so for you has been proven that your grandaddy is one of those weird cambrian marine creatures, right? if that is the case enjoy it, because that´s ultimately what your scientific myth, sorry theory claims and actually that´s exactly what every single biology professor teaches as a fact in every single class room in the world...nevertheless for me that is greatest stupidity of humankind ever made in the name of science...
realhomosapiens 1 year ago
@realhomosapiens
While to you it is the greatest stupidity, it doesn't change that it's a fact and that, yet again, you mistake scientific theory and an hypothesis.
No wonder you keep losing every debates when it comes to biology.
Atharkas 1 year ago
@Atharkas
Hmmm, I loose eve debate? let´s see if you have learned something new in the past few days...
Humans and chimps shares a common ancestor according to your scientific myth, right? tell me what it was?
Who was this guy? BTW, I undestand populations evolve not individuals, so save time and effort
realhomosapiens 1 year ago
@realhomosapiens
The common ancestors was the common population prior to the separation that lead to different speciation, it's that simple.
And yes Réal, so far, you've lost every single debate you've done on evolution, abiogenesis and astronomy. Kind of sad, really.
Atharkas 1 year ago
@Atharkas
What was the common ancestor that lead to chimps and humans? that simple...you talk about common ancestors but none is mentioned, Why?
What kind of creatures were the common ancestor to humans and chimps? give me the name of that population of what?
realhomosapiens 1 year ago
@Atharkas
The common ancestor was the common population prior to the separation that lead to different speciation....
You didn´t say nothing, I asked for the name of the creatures of that population...
If you don´t have the name of the creatures you´re just parloting the same old song...come on....
realhomosapiens 1 year ago
@realhomosapiens
Réal, if you wanted a name, then here : Pierolapithecus catalaunicus.
But as usual, you'll deny, and then go one about weird cambrian creature, using tired analogy from venom fang X and, eventually, stop talking completely because you won't have any arguments/counter arguments.
Atharkas 1 year ago
@Atharkas
Appreciate your effort, but you didn`t catch the question, so here I go again...
There is a supposed ancestor that diverged into chimps and humans? Who was this guy?
realhomosapiens 1 year ago
@realhomosapiens
Awww, real, you made a mistake here again : It is not "one guy" that diverged, but a population.
Again, when trying to disprove something, try to learn what it is. That is why you keep losing any conversation about evolution.
Atharkas 1 year ago
@Atharkas
I know that, but it does not change my argumentation a bit...something you can not even grasp, if you did, you wouldn´t make this comment, but that aside...
Now back to business...There is a supposed ancestor that diverged into chimps and humans? What this population of creatures was alike?
Did you notice?, changing the word guy to population doesnot make you capable of answering it, prove me wrong, if you can...jajajajajajaja
realhomosapiens 1 year ago
@realhomosapiens
