I was at the fuckin barrier for Anthrax and Trivium!!! It was fuckin amazing... Can't wait till next time!! Got to meet the boys after the show too, they are the nicest guys I have met. I hope next time they come to aust, they'll play at the Tivoli again because that show was insane!

OKay, first of all, Metallica haven't got two brain cells between them so who gives a fuck what they think. And Trivium are pop as they cleverly employ overtly poppy melodies in the major key so they are easy to listen to for little 13 year old girls, then they add chugga chugga guitars and solos so they also apeal to meathead metal kids. They're very clever in doing that, but a good band they are not

Not saying metal shouldn't have solos, saying Trivium use solos and drop z fucking tuning to make people think they're some brutal metal band, but most of their songs are arranged like a pop song, have pop melodies and are fairly radio friendly. They're too commercial. Metal isn't meant to sound pretty, it should be ugly. Listen to "Dying in your Arms". Sounds like something you'd hear on MTV. And they played it at Soundwave! Poor show mate

Entrance of the conflagration is a seven string so its in B tuning. Acendancy was all drop d. Their new album is mostly B. That's exactly it, metal shouldn't BE "for the ladies" or for the thirteen year old kids or whatever. It's intrinsicly nasty and hard. I just think they're trying to commercialise something that's meant to be anti-commercial and underground. And they're bringing that into the mainstream. Which is totally gay. Slipknot is on the same page

@JeromeKillsFascists Trivium don't write their music 'FOR' anyone. they just play good heavy-ass metal, and theres nothing wrong with downtuning or having softer songs or whatever. it's better than sounding the same on every album. all good metal bands have their softer shit, it doesnt mean they're making to become mainstream or get a female audience or anything. if you don't like them go watch another video.

@JeromeKillsFascists Well to your other comments. Metal can have Melody... And they drop their tuning to make it sound brutal.. They use E standard, Drop B, and for their seven string B Standard. They barely change tunings. And as for Dying In Your Arms, it's a good song whether it's metal or not. And if you don't like it cause it's not Metal or whatever, you're just as pretentious as you claim Trivium to be. Open your mind, man. Metal is diverse.
