  • Lew - this is wonderful! Thanks!

  • R.I.P. Rosa!

  • I don't know why I care, but is this two takes? It cuts at 2:47 and I didn't see another camera in the other shot.

  • Thank you, Lew and blessings to Rosa for wonderful music and a fabulous career. She turns 106 today, June 2, 2009!

  • 106, I didn't know that. I'm sure I have this song Dreaming around here someplace and I'll play it on my Rodgers 33E. Mine is like hers but in light walnut but the thought crossed my mind to have this one painted like Ms Rosa's. Couldn't tell it through the video but these organs sound huge in person. I am honored to own such a beautiful instrument and love that Rosa Rio owns one as well. Rodgers made wonderful theatre organs. J.Barrow

  • Actually, Rosa turned 107 on June 2. She was born in 1902.

  • I think 106 is correct, she told me while I was visiting her just before her birthday. I found her in the census which also verified it.

  • Just think of having that in your home how wonderful........

  • A Conn has a total other kind of sound .more jazz / Hammond kind . I owned a 652 ( later Model) . Nice but not to be confused with a Rodgers .A 33 E as played here is build between 1964 and 1975. Then came the Rodgers Olympic 333 which I have myself..

A 321( B model is best) I would prefer over a Conn since they don,t break down unlike ALL CONN will do.. as time pass by. COLD soldering techniques brought by Conn is giving each owner a nightmare ! Rodgers can be repaired for decades to come !!

  • You're mistaken earlph. Only the newest Conns had the solder problem, and even they can be repaired. ...But aren't we digressing?

Beautiful music Ms. Rio, beautifully played Mr. Williams!

  • What is better a conn 650 series organ or a Rodgers 321?

  • This organ isn't a digital organ... No sampling here...the sounds are synthisized through transistors and other electronic gizmos... The glock is a real glock but rather than being run on pneumatics it's electric... the Rodger's "Glock in a box"

  • Hi jamez,

The organs glock & toy counters are also electronic. The organ sounds are sampled from real theatre organ pipes, percussion and sound effects.

  • just sounds a bit "tinny" for a wurlitzer

    doesnt sound that goood!

but it is an electirc one so !!

does it have all the stuff like glock and toy counters on ?

  • It's not a Wurlitzer, Jamez. It's a Rodgers. I think you have the misconception that all theatre organs are Wurlitzers. This is not true. Just be careful of that.

  • Hi Michael, it's Jessica. Are you in the Tampa Bay / Clearwater (FL) area? I'm a new member of CFTOS but I don't believe we've met yet. I haven't met Ms. Rio yet either, but I'm very eager to.

  • Jim, that was sure uncalled for. Geez. Lew is a great individual and phenomenal musician.

  • Lew Williams was born in my home town and I still love here to this day. I never met, but have met his sister. I use to sing with his sister at church. I would love to be able to meet him one day.
