  • I wonder how many Wilhelm screams there are in all of Star Trek, and I mean all of Star Trek.

  • Normally stuff like this starts off funny, stops being funny and then starts being funny again. This never stopped being funny!

  • stolen video!!!!!!

  • @ruyl2 I've already stated a few times that I did not make this montage.

  • I seem to hear the Wilhelm on Venture Bros quite frequently.

  • "inglorious bastards" has a guy named wilhein...... and, of course, you can hear this scream at a certain time.

  • i saw a porno with this scream after some bloke blew his wad

  • talk about artificial....

  • best one was howard the duck

  • Good Collection ! I appreciate the patience in composition and idea as a whole.

  • Fake!

It may have been in some of the first films, but the rest have been put in.

  • Not fake. See the films and you'll hear the scream.

  • What hole do you "fake" people crawl out of? Get a life, get a clue.

  • OMG, I was watching King Kong, and i head it! ITS NOT A FAKE! xD this is epic! =D

  • Damn i never even noticed lol.

You forgot one from the Lord of the rings: the two towers. When an elf get thrown from the fortress during the last battle .

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUU

  • I love how most of these are George Lucas movies.

  • I KNEW THAT SOUND WAS RE-USED!

Ever since I was little I kept hearing it in so many films.

  • Very good one!

  • You forgot Boba Fett.

  • Darn, I was looking for the famous "HEEEEAAAAAAALP!!!!!" scream. :(

  • Well at least now I know the name to that scream, it's so crazy how many movies end up using that scream.

  • its definitely a falling scream

  • i just watched fantastic 4 and there is one in there

  • Its not just the Wilhelm Scream! I've heard a LOT of sounds in videogames and the same ones in movies / tv / etc... nice collection though... I'm sure it was a lot of work.

  • I love how people are pointing out things he missed. Of course he can't put them all in a single clip, there are almost 200 known movies with this sound in them, some using it multiple times. Cut the man some slack.

  • You are a fake :P

  • lalalala :)

  • how could it be a fake?

  • The sound is not original.

  • Jesus christ, it's like the Amen Break of Movie sound effects.

  • Even in the Goofy Movie? Should the Goofy scream be used in a Goofy movie? It would sound a lot better, but I guess it's a different kind of humour.

  • No no, its real. Its in an insane number of movies as an in-joke for sound editors in general and Ben Burtt in particular.

  • Sound is a bit off

  • lol!!!

  • The wilhelm scream is used in the new Family Guy episode where he is fighting with that yellow chicken the 3rd time.

  • and that one time at the preast car chase.

  • It's gonna be so obvious when I hear it again now! aaAAAuuh!

  • i like when its in king kong. this dinosaur knocks an old guy off a cliff. lol

  • wilhelm screams rule! im never gonna be able to watch a movie without looking for it!

  • I kept hearing about this but didn't entirly believe it. Certainly sounds the same. Was it ever confirmed that it was Wilhelm? I heard there was some controversy about that. Years ago I ran a studio and some guys wanted me to scream on the last track of their CD. I declined because I was afraid that would be the one thing I'd become known for. Thankfully I'm still a nobody :)

  • Look it up on Wikipedia. It's named after a character from a 50's western.

  • lots of wilhelm screams on the george lucas films!!

  • gothrockchick.... that's exactly why it's funny..

  • We use the Wilhelm scream in our movie "Know Thy Neighbor" when a dude gets hit by a car. We're going to make it a point to try to use it as much as we can from now on.

  • It's so fake! It's the same audio clip played every time! (Buzz Lightyear does NOT sound like that!)

  • that's just it. it's such a good cue for the VISUAL FALL or VISUAL PAIN that you don't even realize it sounds nothing like the voice actor. it doesn't sound like ANY of the characters that it comes up with. Since the making of this video it has been used in other pictures aswell. There are certain original and pioneering foley sounds that foley-artists enjoy throwing in as an homage or tribute to their importance.

  • it was this moment that i too went wtf. seems odd to me.

  • Sorry, just watched TS, it's there

  • It's fake!!!

  • How is it fake?

  • I just think it is so funny when it keeps on going

  • Ben Burtt sure likes using the scream, huh?

  • it's okey when you watch a movie and you hear it once in the entire movie....but watching several of them one after the other; it's simply ridiculous...

  • haha, awesome.

  • King Kong has it too. When the apatosaurs push the guy off the cliff.

  • what about the use in space balls?

  • I love the wilhelm scream.

  • It was also used in "Dante's Peak"

  • That video is a scream! 5 stars.

    Search 'orangefu' on YouTube.

  • If I were a film maker I'd use it at least once in every film I made.

  • Holy crap... I'm never going to be able to enjoy any of those films ever again. I'll ALWAYS notice that noise thanks to you.

It's as bad as the door opening/closing noises from Doom that are used in everything.

  • you gotta love hollywood cilche

  • This is hilarious!

Maybe you can do a Goofy yell compilation video. It's used in nearly every animated Disney movie.

  • Oh god, I thought I was alone in hearing that! XD The canned laughter, the children laughing sound byte, I wonder how many actually exist!

  • You also missed Spaceballs and Revenge of the Sith.

  • Yeah, whoever came up with this montage first also forgot to add "The Wild Bunch" and "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle."

  • a couple of days ago i was watching star wars and i thought, "man, i've heard that scream in about 20 different movies, is that just me or is it used more than once." well now i know.

  • I can't stop laughing; hearing the same scream used over and over again (especially when it's used in the same movie three times!) It's like the same guy keeps dying in dozens of movies...

  • You missed a couple from RotJ too. :P

  • There's a bunch of them on Lord of the Rings too.

  • Now you gotta do one of that famous hawk scream

  • You also missed one in the recent, Peter Jackson version of King Kong. They play the scream when a man is knocked off the cliff in the dinosaur stampede.

  • actually there was one movie before the "first one" to use the scream, and you missed one from Return of the Jedi.

  • I didn't make this lovely montage, but I realize that it leaves quite a few out, it's hardly a complete clip collection. Was there really one before the "first one"? Was it from the same film?

  • Yeah, it was from a 1951 film called "Distant Drums."
