  • apparently ANY enforcement title gives you the rights to abuse others..... Or was it just that the security chick was jealous of the dancing chick, so she had her arrested.

  • to let me know what happened. You actually gave me your card and asked me to forward you the email. I apologize for never responding but I never actually got anything from them which was really disappointing, they'd asked if I'd wanted to talk to police but not being from the states i didn't really want to get too involved and just left a written statement and my contact information but never heard anything. Glad to see the video is getting noticed.

  • It's been awhile since anybody commented, I remember talking to you, I was sitting directly in front of you and was very upset by this. Me and my friend went and reported it to security and talked to them for a long time, after being told basically to f off by the head security person of that side I went to the ticket master booth and told them what happened and talked to the head of security who told me basically that she'd caused problems earlier and it was poorly handled and he'd email me

  • Just saw this thread now...interesting since I had what i think is a similar experience. I was taken down by security by the vista beer garden at the top of the hill above the main stage on Sunday night of the festival around 6:45 pm. I believe i was unconscious for a time after being taken down by security while handcuffed and hitting my face on the pavement. If anyone witnessed this please post. I have been charged with "simple assault", and without any witnesses it is my word against security

  • anyway, my point is that while many of these security guards and laid-back and totally reasonable, some of them are straight-up power trippers and are terrible at their jobs.

  • @BCo313 Most def. I was there and has one of those ladies in the video (i recognize her) said to me "im the badass that takes away your beer" at a food stand when I Was minding my own, completely sober.

  • yeah, this is fairly unrelated, but last year at sasquatch, i had a female "beverage enforcement" officer approach me simply because i was lying down on the grass on the hill (as were about 10,000) other people. she immediately made me stand up, interrogated me about how many drinks i had consumed (2 beers, and i'm well over 21), accused me of lying to her, and then threatened to arrest me. only upon my coherent explaining to her that i was lawyer did she back off.

  • @tripcalifornia Some people are in the dark about a few authority figures who abuse power. They've had a more pleasant life experience than I have. I had a friend who was tackled and punched out at Bumbershoot last year. The other nearby security guards were yelling stop! stop! at him (the tackling security guard) but it was my friend who spent the night in jail. If you fit the "profile", you are a target.

  • They were wrong. I clearly see the concert goer as the victum. The security guards should be arrested and fired and charge for there brutality! I am very disturbed by them. Horrible power tripping security with no training. I have reposted this and will make all that i can aware of this venue and how they conduct concerts also will be contacting orginizations to ban the security and venue and all people involved with this concert.

  • What happened to nina1288? All of her posts have been removed.

  • @johnjgahagan - her comments clearly showed she was one of the security guards shown in this video and she probably finally figured out that her words would be held against her in the lawsuit

  • I was sitting just to the right of this debacle. The girl was dancing on the grass with her water bottle. Two guys ran up to Bev Enforcement, danced around them in a taunting fashion and then took off up the pathway. The blonde beverage enforcement person (who may/may not have been flipped the bird) pointed at her and ran at her. The girl started to run, as I probably would have.

Sad when a powertripping b***h has the authority to physically violate someone who is just having a good time.

  • After she was handcuffed and taken away, someone started calling to the last remaining "Beverage officer": "She has no shoes, bring her her shoes". He took the shoes and brought them to her. I think it was the same guard that took her water bottle. This fourth guard was not captured in the video.

My heart was racing and I was very upset. It ruined Sharon Jones and it has ruined concerts for me. I will not return and I will boycott LiveNation. The Lilluh.

  • @TheLilluh she never even got her shoes until we bailed her out of jail in Epheria, 750 bucks later, her only charges being disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice. The guy shown trying to get her shoes to her is our friend who they kept pushing away refusing to give any information to. Security actually REFUSED to take her shoes from our friend. Many people seem convinced it's impossible for any security to ever be out of line

  • I was incensed as were the other concert goers sitting nearby. We are not kids, we are "older". Yes we'd had a drink but we were not drunk. Note the "older fellows" in the video who were also sitting nearby and were obviously concerned. As she was forced to the ground, she dropped her water bottle. None of the "Beverage Enforcement" personnel seemed to notice. After she was taken away, a male nearby picked up the bottle, sniffed it and gave it to the last security guard. He said "It's water".

  • I was seated 5 feet to the right of this episode. The security guard chased the young woman from the asphalt pathway up the grassy seating area and forced her to the ground. I overheard something about "just cause" and I overheard the security guard say something like "she flipped me off, that is cause!". Immediately 3 other security guards surrounded her. She appeared to be about 5'5" and very slight of build. I saw no assault from the girl, only the instinctive moves of trying to break free.

  • what the fuck, sorry this happened to your friend, i didnt see this but that lady in the jacket and glasses is a supervisor and a total power hungry bitch my friend worked with her and saved countless amouns of people from being kicked out for bullshit reasons..they really used unnecessary force poor girl :/

  • @nina1288 it doesnt matter how it happened...its how it looks. IMAGE IS EVERYTHING and a video like this could substantially tarnish that image. Needless to say, if that is how you have to approach a patron during an eviction, it is WRONG. As the senior front of stage supervisor at The Gorge I can tell you that when evicting someone from the property by physical force...you should never put yourself in a situation when the public can view it as a headlock.. Which is exactly how it looks..

  • The Sasquatch Festival Forum discussion thread detailing the circumstances surrounding the situation can be found by doing a google search for 'sasquatchfest proboards'. Post is in 'general board' section & is titled DANCING GIRL ARRESTED

Also, listen at the 00:11 mark. The security woman can clearly be heard referring to the fire lane, the pathway my friend had just been dancing on with multiple other dancing festival attendees as security came through to usher everyone off and clear it.

  • @WPack55 - I don't know where you are getting your information regarding the details of this situation but NONE of what you describe as happening is accurate. She was not tased, she did not spit on a cop, and she certainly didn't punch anyone. The ONLY charges against her are disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice. That's it. NOTHING on the ticket about assaulting security, being under the influence, possession, or anything else one might assume would warrant this level of force.

  • She previously punched the girl in the face that was working for us. BUT that situation was handled poorly, and is an example of what NOT to do.

  • There is a thread going on in the Sasquatch forum for any more information that people may have.

  • I can't be "infuriated" if I don't know the whole story. Although the headlock was rather unnecessary, they wouldn't have restrained her for merely dancing. I'm curious to hear more eyewitness accounts.

  • @evanisovich - Your comment states your interest to hearing witness accounts so I wanted to bring some of the recent comments here to your attention. No one is trying to plead her case online here, we're just grateful that a bystander was smart enough to turn his camera to what was going on so that something can be done about this. Without video evidence it will ALWAYS be a case of he said she said, with security's account rarely being challenged. People need to be aware that this CAN happen.

  • thank you thank you thank you for posting this. this excessive and unnecessary BRUTALITY needs to be exposed when it happens. the risk of this kind of footage being made public is the only way the public can protect ourselves. this should infuriate EVERYONE who watches this.

  • Once she was evicted she was brought to processing...I was on my break and watched the whole thing unfold. I run the floor and front of stage at The Gorge, just thought I would include the other side of the story. She was also put in restraints because she was next to impossible to get in the sheriffs car. Although your video doesn't tell the whole story, It does show one of our female employees handling a guest the wrong way. Putting an inebriated guest in a headlock...NOT GOOD FOR OUR IMAGE.

  • @WPack55 . Thanks for your POV. Agreed, my video does not tell the whole story. I of course didn't see all of the incident, but what I saw was very troubling. Am I correct in assuming what you saw happen was later than what I saw? Prior to being grabbed, tackled and choked, this girl was just dancing around to the righteous sounds of Sarah Jones and the DAP Kings on the pathway between the terraces and the upper lawn.

  • This chick told sheriffs she was Sarah Palin and spit on a cop. She got shot with a taser and arrested... Shes a real winner.

  • @WPack55. BS. I was about 10 feet away from her and didn't see any of this
