The male host is Cal Dodd, who's voiced heaps of commercials, notably the old "Danny McGee Lumberjack" Raisin Bran commercial that was revived a couple of years ago. Cal has a website, if you want to find out more about him.

I remember this was one of the shows that YTV used to fill up their schedule back when they started up, way back in the summer of 1988.

I was always wondering what show it was. Glad it happened to be, although every obvious, circus. At first, I thought the couple were very similar to Donny and Marine Osmond.

Big Top Talent was a kids show, a local production of CKCO. Circus was a CTV network show, and I have no idea what their target audience was.

I always wanted to have sex with Cherise Lawrence as a teenager as a result of this show. She didn't even know I existed. This was a kind of "Donny and Marie" type show except with cheap circus acts. Lloyd Robertson, anchor of CTV News, once said he hated this show because flys would be buzzing around the newsroom for days after a taping. He claimed they would come in off the elephants, even in winter.

Thanks for suggesting that, RetroWinnepeg - lots of great footage in that special. CFTO's history is really a history of the full CTV network, as I remember the majortiy of those shows also aired on ATV (Maritimes) at one time or another.
