@nokt1 By making it in English, you would be able to have it played by people from across the planet. Not everyone speaks German, but everyone at least understand the basics of English, especially if they're a gamer. @mikerules999 I wonder why so many people don't know that the voices were recorded by professional voice actors in a professional studio. And the developers paid a lot money just to make the game better. It was developed by people with little money, but with lots of heart. Of course they first wanted to satisfy their own German fans - whats so bad about that? After the german release, the team worked hard on english subs and now everybody whines...sad.

I'ts more like a standalone game.

They've used the engine and resources from Oblivion, but the game itself is set in a completely different world, with a completely different story. Gameplay mechanics is also altered. You level up by gaining xp, and there's no level scaling (no surrealistic armors on bandits). The game world and dungeons are not generated (like in Oblivion), they're handmade and done so very well. The world is more dense, and looks alot better.

But for you I say... it's a different game in a different world. Own races and new leveling system and stuff. The prequels are Myar Aranath and Arktwnd. You need the Oblivion CD to play it and you can still play Oblivion when you installed Nehrim. You just have to change the esm-files to active

I really LOVED Nehrim and I enjoyed it much more then Oblivion. The main story is magnificent and I really love the voice actors for this. Everything was perfectly made, the dungeons, the armory and weapons and it had the little natural what Oblivion didn't had. The details which make a world look alive.

But it's a shame SureaI stopped with the Addon for Nehrim, but I'm glad they are doing Project 5 now :3

@wariscomeing It's a bit complicated...You should make a backup of the Oblivion Steam folder, install Nehrim, copy everything from inside the Nehrim folder back into the main Oblivion folder (Nehrims' installer creates a copy of Oblivion to install the mod in) and then deactivate steam automatic updates. But I think it's safer to say "no, you need the retail DVD"

@BethesdaFAN101 Nehrim is no Addon, its a totalconversation. You can install it like evry other game, and it has a hole new world, Story, etc. Oh, and its totaly free!!! I think it is better than "Oblivion", "Risen" and Gothic 4!

I made some mods for it. Have a look at the SureAi forum. There you can find Nehrim and all my mods.
