"Leaving the roof open no felt. Dont do that shit in hawaii.mainland roofers come here doing that shit.fired sameday.Back to mainland." I was responding to this comment by jimmysmokepot . I totally agree everyone sees rainfall and i understand why sometimes roofs get left open. I didnt know you guys down in fla had to get every step inspected i bet that can get annoying having to wait for them before finishing a job
Wouldn't it be nice if the actual job took 90 seconds? Talk about making some serious cash! Yes, honey, we roofed 240 homes today! We are going to retire at the end of the week............
the worst thing you see is a hurricane(rarely). here on the main land we have LOTS of hail, high winds, wind driven rain, and ice damns just to name a few things you wont see every day down there. also the palm tree in the bg should have given you the hint this is in a place that doesn't see huge amounts of rain fall yearly. ill agree 4-5 guys on a approx 36sqr re-deck isn't the fastest ever but aside from putting the rips at the bottom instead of the top during the re-deck they did a good job.
@pbag82 I hear you about the rips at the bottom of the roof I have only seen that when its a very steep roof 16 pitch or higher and instead of brackets on the ply wood and jumping from bracket /board up and up or just have 2 guys each grab a side and walk it up the 1X2's nail the top first and work down the roof to the ladders.
@pbag82 This looks like Florida, because it is 5 day job which means they have to have an inspector for the decking, filt, and shingling. I've worked in Miami for about 2 years and you do see rain fall yearly, shit sometimes it never stopped raining. If this job was in Texas it would take one day 1/2 5-6 guys...
not bad, how many guys? a crew with 2 journeyman and 2 helpers, im thinking 3 days for that job. 20-25 squares? But mostly mexicans work faster on my crew. Thing is, its not steep which makes it gravy train.
yea 40 bundles a day should be easy work, id say that was about 60 bundles, But that much board repair must have sucked i cant see good from video but are you guys putting that wood overtop of the old wood?
That's a great time lapse; shame the camera had to be taken down each night - maybe that's the kind of area you live in though? (just kidding; you would get me leaving my camera up in a tree all night either - no matter what the area!)
