Das ist nicht der tod den sie mit sich tragen. Dieser Film ist sehr skeptisch gegenüber des Ersten Weltkrieges. Diese Soldaten ziehen voller Enthusiasmus in den Krieg, wo sie eigentlich nur der Tod erwartet. Die Totenköpfe symbolisieren, dass sie in den Tod gehen.

i believe, also Heinkel produced a monoplane fighter that was even better than the Bf 109, but again mysteriously the 109 was favoured. When you think about it the Luftwaffe could've had jets in the early years of WW2, if enough interest had been shown in the jet engine. Same with Britain too. It's potential didn't receive interest until later on in the war

You should probably do a little more examination of how the war went. Sure the Germans were the best, but their blunder was getting themselves into that war in the first place. They never "almost won." Read "The German Generals Talk" by Lidell Hart. Most German generals agreed from the moment France and Britain declared war that the war was already lost. They still did their best, but it was an enterprise in vain.

Also, would it not be fair to say that most German successes were had against disorganized or unready forces on their heels from the get go. That's the essence of war. I think you need a better understanding of operational art.
