Although I don't disagree with you (would have much rather had a vaginal birth) my son was overdue which is why I was induced. Though my water was broken I labored in a number of positions (can't see this in a 2-min video). After a day and a half of labor (more than half without drugs) it was found that my son was sunny-side up and stuck off to the side, so my doctor decided on a c-section and my heart was broken. I am quite aware of what I missed, which is why we're hoping for a vbac on #2.

Good luck with the second labor. Try to get this book I recommended, so your VBAC will hopefully be a wonderful experience. My thoughts go out for you!
Maybe you should try laboring the way women are intended to, and not being on your back the whole time? What do you think is going to happen when you allow a dr. to put unnatural drugs into your body? Let your body do what it is made to do? For Pete's sake people its not rocket science. You don't even know what an experience you cheated yourself out of and that is the saddest part to me. I had a natural home birth and after 24 hours of intense pain, my daughter was born, healthy and naturally.
@NicoleHenegar so you are one of those all natural natzis....well that's fine for you but don't down others for getting drugs. Just as I wouldn't down you for doing it naturally. My daughter was born healthy and happy in a hospital and I got an epideral at 8 cm. I think you should be proud of yourself but a baby born is a baby born and I think you come off as pretty rude.
People who get epidurals too early...and all the other so "helpful" meds just end up having c-sections. Sometimes it's better to let nature do the things on its own. The labor pains are horrible, but there is a reason behind it.
Agreed. But, I was overdue with no sign of pending labor. So I was induced at 41 weeks. My doc worked with me to go for the vaginal birth I wanted. But, it took 9 hours of hard pitocin labor with no meds (contractions every 2 min) to even GET to 4cm for the epidural - I would not call that too early. Another 9 hours of labor with an epidural and we accepted that my son wasn't coming that way - turned wrong and stuck. I paid my dues with the labor. Just didn't get the delivery I wanted.
In your case I totally understand the inducement, but often (especially here in the States) Docs are rushing the moms, although it's not really the best. I heard a lot of moms here that the first thing they wanna get is a epidural or any other pain med, which is understandable. Who isn't or wasn't scared to go through labor, but it's not really productive and they often end up with a c-section.
How late were you..and why did you need a c-section? was the baby to big?..how was the c-section..did you get to hold him soon after?...im due soon so im trying to get all the info I can :)
What a beautiful family. This is the way it should be. I want my daughter to marry someone like this husband and daddy. I cried when I saw this. Although I am certainly grandma age; I have yet to be one, and probably won't get to be. This was nice to share in your special moment. Thank you.
On ther second half of this clip, I have heard this music before, but I don't remember the name of this composition. What was the name of the song that accompanied this music? If there is anyone who remember it, please do tell us; even a name would be helpful. Thanks! :-)
What a beautiful video!! Very well put together! The Dad was so attentive! It must have taken a lot of patience by everyone! The Mom deserves a metal...oh yeah! She got one!! Beautiful baby!!

Read the book "Who's getting this baby anyways".
