  • There was a point when Donny had to stop singing this song.

  • Classic . Wish we could get the whole concert .

    Thanks for sharing

  • I knew I should have moved to utah and snagged Donny...I would have given Debbie a run for her money :)

  • "im dating somebody else so i must be true!?!

  • This song was 40 years ago no.9 in the world charts #donny #osmond

  • all i gots to say is.....who the fuck is justin bieber!?!

  • Justin Beiber will never be Donny Osmond!! I have been a fan of Donny Osmond for 40 years. My heart still melts when I hear him sing.

  • Donny's voice hadn't completely changed yet...I have been an Osmond Fan for 40 years...

  • This song was 40 years ago no.3 in the world charts #donny #osmond

  • Donny your the best, still got it going on ,luv ya always !!!

  • Wow!!!! I remember when I u sed to be totally IN LOVE with Donny!

  • I guess remembering that I really liked the Osmonds & other"teenybopper" groups has allowed me to be ok with Justin Bieber... He really seems to be a fairly decent kid...

  • I just loved him soooooo much!!!!!! Circa early '70's. Thanks for the memories and the music!!!

  • Didn't know there was a Justin Bieber in the 70's. Yes they look alike. And yes, their voices are very similar.

  • @ptlgbrasil I see nothing in Jusin that looks like Donny. Justin has nothing on Donny. Just sayin'. :o)

  • @ptlgbrasil No, no, no. Donny is way more talented and handsome. Besides, I'm pretty sure Justin will not be playing in Vegas in his 50s

  • I love Donny's accent as a child

  • We live in an "autotune" universe..You dont even have to be ABLE to sing..just look pretty/handsome doing it, and let the recording studio take care of it..That's NOT the kind of music I wanna listen to..Bunch of fakers... This era, this type of actual performances, we will never see again....

  • Just saw him in Toronto..lol..all the SAME move! posture everything..lol great show!

  • Brings back a memory for me...I loved Donny when he and I were kids!!! LOL

Thank you for posting this song!!!

  • The song was released in 1971 but he might have been older during this concert!

  • "When you're near me like this, do do do, you're much too hard to resist"....They just dont make em like this anymore!! Luv u 4-ever Donny!!

  • Totally Freakin Awesome:)

  • Donny has Justin beat, no comparison at all! In fact, Donny has aged quite well!

    Marie too!

  • @7732ritchey Sure he has. With the possible aid of a little nip here, a little tuck there!

  • The Osmond family had/has class and family values. Let's hope the Bieber camp can keep that in today's world.

  • this is one man wh's really dedicated to music. he didnt just give up when his voice changed and he grew up- he kept right on sinigng dancing and making people laugh at the fun he and Marie had on thier tv show, went on to Broadway, and continues to sing, dance, and entertain on the Donny & Marie show today when most people would retire. Donny is as talented as ever

  • all you young things that are rubbishing this need to try and understand that this was how it was in the 70's.....our sisters, nieces, mothers et al loved this band of brothers,so cut them a little slack guys huh?!?.......give them the respect that they more than deserved during that time in life!!!!!!

  • why are they all dressed like elvis?? lol

  • @wheelchairmommy

Elvis was actually a friend of the family. His costume designer did their jumpsuits.

  • The original Beeb, but with talent.

  • The Justin Bieber Team needs to work very much harder if they want him to be appealing as the very adorable and talented Donny Osmond we see here. His songwriters need to improve and compose more melodious and catchy songs to be able to rival the popularity of Donny Osmond's many hits.

  • HATE to say it but as a DC devotee this IS GOOD !!!!!!!!!

  • i loved donny sooooo much still do ha ha

  • Ahhhhhh

  • <3

    x

    x

  • @1996gymnasticsfan not sure why you are telling me to SHUT UP. This is my video and I'm on Donny's side. I was defending him.

  • nostalgic moment. I love this.

i was completely in love with this guy, when i was a teenager. And i get tears in my eyes when i se this video, and remember howe i felt, when i look at pictueres of him.

It was not many conserts on tv in Norway these days,so i had posters of him covered the wall in my room, Hehe And i listen to my casett called crazy hourses :D By The Osmonds

  • The osmond copied the Elvis clothes, they looked good

  • this guys better then justin bieber but i just wish i was born in that lifetime 2g2 his concerts i wouldve been awesome do u hear all of the gurls cheering ITS CRAZY lolzzzzz

  • Donny is a great singer and has a wonderful stage pressence. it's not pure talent either, it takes alot pf practice and vocal control to sing this well without technology to cover mistakes or autotune to help. and he's still singing today, from early rock hits to Braodway to his own music he's amazing

  • I still have his record at my parents house.

  • All I recall is how utterly lame the "Donny & Marie Show" was. It was so sugery and hokey it could potentially send you into the nightmarish depths of diabetic shock. Ice skaters, balloons, confetti, and jokes in the opening monologue that were so embarrassingly bad even Henny Youngman would have said, "Hell, no."

  • @kookookwock Justin has nothing on Donny. Absolutely nothing. Not sure why people are comparing Justin to Donny.

  • @flowerchild1260 I know They both are H-O-T

  • @flowerchild1260 SHUT UP

  • @flowerchild1260 Cause he is the modern Donny, But HONESTLY I"VE NEVER HEARD JUSTI"NS CROwD SCREAM THAT LOUD!!!!!!! (I'm typing in caps to make it seem like I'm shouting over Osmond's screamingfans)

  • @flowerchild1260 Because they both are super cute

  • @flowerchild1260 yeah donny is much better !

  • OK I bought this '45' and went into my room and Played it forever

OK so I bought this '45' and closed my bedroom door and played it forever on my record player and actually thought he and I would be together someday. It's what every young girl dreams of. Tiger Beat..Sixteen Magazine. Those were the days. Still love him.

  • so many memories, i cherish the osmonds in my heart for ever especialy Donny every girls dream. thank you so much for those memories that will stay for ever in my mind and heart.

  • It doesn't get better than this!

  • Great memory booster. To be young in the 70's... sweet!! thanks!

  • Donny was one of my favorite singers from the 70s I do vocal impressions of this song and also Puppy Love not on the money but in the ballpark you listen and comment after I post it, in the mean time check out my video Valley Of The Fountains Blessings ..........

  • Wow this is so awesome....

  • Just let me say, I loved the Osmonds. I was crazy for Merrill. And to piggy-back on my previous post, I guess The Temptations couldn't really be called a 'boy-band' because there was no doubt, those were full grown men.......you got to be more careful!!!

  • Uhhhhh I hate to break this to you but Motown had boy bands down pat before the Beatles hit. Matter of fact the Beatles listened to Motown. The Temptations (just to mention my faves, and only one group of a few) were doing their thing long before the British Invasion. I'm just saying......no disrespect to The Beatles, they were wonderful.

  • This was the number 1 song the week I wad born......uuuggh

  • The Osmonds are all awesome. They always will be and always have been great. They are not corny, they are timeless. They are not has beens, they are legends. I dont care what some critics or naysayers think or say. You cannot deny talent. and the Osmonds all have IT!

  • GO AWAY LITTLE GIRL: I drove my brother Martin crzy playing Donny Osmond 24/7..He hated Donny so much that he would take my 45's and throw them out the bedroom window like freezbees...LOL

  • @rlhavasu I grew to like this song only recently - but I'd never thrown my sister's Donny Osmond album out of a window. I respected her too much - plus I liked Donny's other songs back then. What a jerk your brother was. I am sure he is sorry - so I will shut up now!

  • what year ????

  • @kerjan1 Was this 1970, 1971, or 1972? Someone may have already answered this question. Google will tell us of course - but I am too sleepy to look it up!

  • when we were young eh

  • They all look like fucking Elvis. lol

  • Who the hell is Justin Bieber??? LOL...I am out of the loop - don't watch "mod" TV anymore....Donny Osmond was my first crush and I still love to listen to him and his brothers now and then!! Wish I was 13 again and felt that sort of puppy love ;)

  • Where's my bellbottoms?? I want to go back

  • WHAT GOODS OLD MEMORIES ,DOES TIMES IF YOU DINT ENJOY THEM YOU MISTED A LOT,THANK YOU FLOWERCHILD1260 FOR DOES VIDEOS.

  • I was so little when this song was released and I died for him.!!!!!

  • Okay... jus sayin'.... HATED DONNY OSMOND bc my sister was CRAZY about him and his stupid PURPLE!!!! hahahahhahaa!!! I CRIED at the concert I HAD to go to w/her!!!!

  • oh be still m y beating heart, vintage Donny. Still love him to bits

  • no wonder they sounded so good live. that was their training on so many shows, tv and live. Not like today. Same with the Jacksons. They came up on the Chitlin circuit where if you didn't blow people away live they would have never gotten to Motown.

  • i had such a crush on donny when i was a teenager

  • Sooo cute!! I love it.....

  • What little girl didn't dream of Donny singing this song to them in person and being the little girl that he didn't really want to go away.

  • Now we know where Justin Bieber got his hair style and sound from...

  • @Vam901

I've just thought how much Justin Bieber looks and sounds like Donny.

  • I always thought I would meet Donny and instantly..he would marry me!.Living in Scotland as I still do kind of put that in the realms of fantasy!

  • Their look in this video reminds me of the Elvis jumpsuit....must have been a fashion then rather than individual style...who knew...

  • @MishaLowther actually they had the same costume designer

  • Go eat shit Justin Bieber. Cannot even come to close to Donny's shadow.

  • This is strange to hear that squeeky young voice when I know he is almost as old as me. He is 52 I am 59. I covered the song as well but I did it in the original Steve Lawrence fashion.

  • Those were the days.......great memories!!

  • I love his voice and he was so cute

  • well i love this song now . but when i was little my mom and my borther would sing go away little girl and i did not like it but i was little and they was playing around with me . but love donny and i love the song now

  • Justin Bieber looks like Donny

    a lot.

  • Donny reminds me of Justin Bieber in this video.....lol

  • @chrissylm37 ...I know right!!??...i'v always thought that, & they both have the same favorite color...purple!...lol

  • @chrissylm37 Uh. I think it's the other way around. Justin Bieber is also gay.

  • @chrissylm37 In you dream, only

  • Donny Osmond, Bobby Sherman, David Cassidy, Michael Jackson....I loved them all!

  • I was and have always been a donny fan, the first record i ever owned was Puppy love in 1972 when i was p, i eventually got to see him when i was 45 in Vegas bo handsome even now x

  • A well oiled little machine. I was into Coltrane and Hendrix in the 60's, had no space for the Osmonds of course, they were packaged for young girls. BUT, I do know what it takes to pull of this type of show day in and day out with no end in sight, A lot of work is what it takes. No one can say they didn't earn their keep.

  • I have loved Donny since I was 12. Something about him makes you want to marry him no matter how old he gets!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. God I was crazy about him back then!!!!

    Amy H.

  • It is so much better now that fans actually listen to the music rather than screaming all the way through the concerts.

  • he did and still has one great awesome talent

  • OMG. I remember the era. I am going to Vegas on June 8th. He still puts on a great show!!!

  • I wore the 45 of this out! Made myself crazy singing it all the time, and I'm a girl! Love it, so glad I was raised back then! Always the Osmonds! Met him at the Borders here in NYC, looks awesome up close, very handsome guy. Lucky wife of his!

  • Back when I really was a little girl! I love his version wish he'd sing it more often

although now it might be more like- go away old bag! (just kidding)

  • I saw them in concert in Toronto. What an awesome night! So neat to see this.

  • @Songbirdca Are you refering to the concert at the CNE bandstand that had the Stampeders as an opening act ? Do you remember the date ?

  • My first concert when I was 8 years old was the Osmonds in Chattanooga TN at Chamberlain field....1972. They were fucking great. suprisingly talented it is soo cool to see them again, like that!

  • im 47 too and you rock donny.

  • This song makes me feel soooooo good......... I love you, Donny!!

  • I wish I could have gone to see them live when they were like this.

  • @Lavendergaljackie2 me too, they look so fit in those white suits :)

  • 51 and still enjoy him....hope he sticks around for a long time....i too wishes i had his poster

  • Are these Elvis's kids?

  • Wat een kanjer he. En nog steeds ondanks dat hij nu 52 is blijft hij een uitstekende artiest

  • @irma020959

Een goed persoon. En een goede zanger.

  • Saw them in concert in London in 1973 - can't remember much but the screaming was ear piercing. Wonderful memories from a talented group.

  • true real talent lasts forever thats why hes still goin strong today xx

  • they had a concert in Knoxville Tn and My dad a Sargent for the police dept was doing security and he got me back stage to meet them .. A memory I will never forget got a drum stick and a purple scarf

  • Wow! That sounds great for a live performance. A lot of nostalgia with these songs. I'm glad he's still out there doing it.

  • The number one for ever

  • this the kind of song that only little girls would like

  • I'm 47 & I love it :-D

  • @dulcerose16 I was 13 and loved it when it first came out. I'm 50 and still love it.

  • Yeah, about 40 million baby boomer little girls loved him, that's why he was a teen idol

  • 0.0 I think seeing them in those outfits would be way too weird for them. No, second that - that goes for more than little girls...

Damn, put some real clothes on those disco dracula tighties are too much to bare! AHHHHHH stop moving AHHHH too much AH MY EYES!!! NO MY BRAAAAIN!!!

  • I loved him then and I love him now.

  • I loved Donny then and I love him now.

  • It only took 37 years, but Donny finally sang this song to me on my birthday. Sigh... though it was hard to hear him tell me to go away. LOL! Love this one.

  • congretz donny!

  • DONNY OSMOND IS A WINNER!!

  • im 45 and not ashamed to say how i loved donny and the osmonds, and watched them in the last few months (21/11/09) and they are as great as they were in the 70's love'm all to bits xxx

  • He is sooooooo darn cute!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very nice elvis look hahaha but very nice song

  • when I was a pre-teen, I wanted to be Donny Osmond SO BADLY!

I'm 43 now and was a professional musician for over 20 years. I realize now how much the Osmonds influenced me.

  • One of the greatest songs I heard

  • I´m sure I was at this concert.

  • Ahh. Donny was my first love. I still swoon when I see this. I saw the Osmonds in concert in 1975. It was my first concert, and from then on I was hooked. So happy to see he's being loved and recognized again. He's a sweetheart.

  • I have a very good friend that was a huge Donny Osmond fan, even had purple socks! I was a Shaun Cassidy fan as well, so it looks like we picked two winners. Both are still as hot today as they were then!!!

  • Yes they are!! Donny is the best and Shaun is goos too!

  • I wore nothing BUT purple socks for years because of Donny !!

  • Osmonds have been are still the very best. I was a huge Jay fan. Most talented family in the business.

  • My friend Courtney likes Jay

  • I loved the Osmonds I still have all the albums from the 70s. I saw them in St Louis in 1971 or so. I was going to marry Jay and my friend Gayle (R.I.P.) was going to marry Merrill. We were really going to Utah to find them. lol ,,,so young and silly.. Im 54 now.... wow

  • Donny was my first crush too-I think I was 7 or 8 (43 now). Okay it was a toss up between Donny, Leif and Shawn Cassidy (I also had a crush on Gopher on Love Boat-kinda twisted huh?)

  • I wish I had all my Tiger Beat posters, but I have quite a few on my walls now that I am never going to part with. The Osmonds rock! I fell in love with Donny when I was nine years old, and never fell out of love with him!

  • my room was covered in posters of DONNY.wall to wall. I had so many, I recently was going through some of my donny albums and found several posters. I use to have a habit of folding my posters and sticking them in the albums. After 30 years, I had forgotten I had put them away, talk about a thrill finding them again,

  • Wish I had my posters too. I think I have a box of old Tiger Beats in a box somewhere. Should find them and pick out some of the pictures. Well I am about to put up my Donny Osmond calendar up for 2010 so I can look at his beautiful face everyday. Still have my Donny doll sitting on top of my tv. Great to hear how much other fans still love him and always will.

  • @bsheffer1 i would LOVE to see some old tiger beat books im 48 now and i still LOVE donny i had his and david cassidy posters all over my walls in my room when i was young ive lost all my posters and magazines over the years but i would LOVE to know where i could get a tiger beat,i love knowing theres still donny fans out there weve stayed true to donny

  • I have all the posters but some are stuck together - I was the same! Same age as you and this is the voice I fell in love with. Isn't it great that Donny is still going strong!

  • this was #1 on billboard sept 5, 1971.

  • Steve Lawrence also had this as a #1 hit in 1963 - but nobody cares about that one! LOL

  • this is my favorite version of the song :)

  • i just so love the osmonds

  • What memories! I remember seeing Donny perform here in Toronto, ON, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat! He was fab! It was for my birthday (this was quite a few years back - late 90's or maybe early 2000's) and I even went backstage and stood outside and waited for him to come out and voila! I met him - I kissed him on his cheek and met his new doggie at the time, who was trying to get away! He was so cute! He also posed with me and I have a picture of him and I. He is so hot!

  • IS THIS AT THE LOS ANGELES FORUM?

  • blanc: yes, this was recorded live at the Forum. They made an album from the performance.

  • Such Great Memories! Fell instantly in love when he sang puppy love! Wish I could go back relive it one day! Buy Tiger Beat! Seventeen! Those were the days!

  • I Love carole king

  • Donny was my FIRST Crush back then... He was Gorgeous THEN and moreso NOW... and I agree that the Osmonds WERE the 1st "boyband" MANY years ago... brings back memories, Donny, Donny and Marie, and the Osmonds PLASTERED my bedroom walls, had all the Tiger Beat and 16 magazines with him and Michael Jackson gracing the covers (RIP MJ, u r missed, grew up on you as well, and your music and dance live on through the ages as well... Moonwalk across the heavens now MJ...); this is "bittersweet"...

  • @DERedhead65 yes yes here here, I did the same i had Donny all up in my wall and MJ too. But my crush was Donny oh my God i loved him so much.

    thank you for sharing.

  • @vazq335112000 What about David Cassidy? I had posters of Donny, Michael and David.

  • @vazq335112000 I often tell my daughter that its too bad the young girls don't have a "Donny" of today. They don't like Justin Beiber and he doesn't measure up anyway. Not even close!

  • @KSitz77 I agree with you here. Too bad little girls don't have a "Donny" today.

It's sad girls have lost this kind of innocence we had then. ( I was still in grade school when the Osmonds hit it big-so I was a little girl.)

  • @DERedhead65

I really beg to differ with you on that comment....although incredible talented in the 70's...my money still goes to the Beatles as being the first actual "boyband" in the 60's and many other were from that era...hermans hermits, dave clark 5 just to name a couple...my daughters are both fans of Donny having met him in Edmonton during his dreamcoat day....an incredible performer and a absolute gem in person

  • also they were the original boy band 50 yrs on they r still goin strong how many can say that?

  • i love this song! ooold skool!

My mom and me were watching this and she was like "Hear those girls screaming?...one was me >.>"

  • I remember Donny being 13 and I was 8 when this song came out. At that time, I really thought I could sing like him. LOL. This is vintage classic and I really appreciate seeing this posted here. Thank you ever so much. Still love Donny today.

  • i love this song! the screaming is really loud but its just the fans showing there love for donny!

  • the screaming is unbelieveable!

    it's piercing!

  • In choir we sang this song with our boys!
