I've read the bible quite a bit, and discussed with lutherans, pentecostals, mormons and jehovas witnesses. None of them can answer the simplest questions I ask them. What I find astonishing is that none of the religious people I've met IRL or on the net seems to think that "free will" is something to believe in.

All those people you just pointed out didn't fight and cause war because they were Christians, they all had special interests. Both world wars didn't start because of religion, it started because there were countries that were at each other's throats, and everyone else who was in the war (like the U.S.) came in because they were allies to either side.
