The only problem with the stalker games is that they are buggier than a crack whore with a head cold. IF its possible to get past that, theyre two of the most badass games made. Just heartbreakingly buggy.

Yeah, Ive got Clear sky running finally, after patching it 5 times and keeping my fingers crossed. Never did get Shadow of Cheynobyl to work well though.

Yeah right now I'm playing the original stalker. I was thinking of trying the other one called clear sky, but I wasnt shure how good it is. Is it any good? I am playing the first one right now and when i do missions for the npc's their additude dosnt change at all. It just stays at neutral. I think this is another bug in the original version.

Yeah, its pretty good so far, ive only played it for an hour or so. Its just about as buggy, but If you update it to the latest (1.05.10) and get a cracked exe and dll files it will at least be stable enough to play. I gave up on the first one cause of all the bugs though, I got to the part where you kill the floating light thing in the military base..so as far as how buggy, im still trying to figure that out. seems a bit more stable though.

Yeah I couldn't agree with you more the first one is buggy as hell. I've been playing online MMO's and fps for about 12 years now and stalker is one of the buggiest games I have ever played. Even when it has been patched. You sound like a really cool guy. Mind if I add you to friends? cheers

Does Clear sky lag less than the original game? I couldn't fully enjoy Shadow of Chernobyl. I mean the graphics and the storyline are 5 out of 5, but the game itself seemed to be lagging quite a lot. And the AI level was bad as well. The enemies always knew exactly where you were. You sneak and kill someone with a silence pistol, and the whole army is after you.

Actually, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will be coming to the Xbox 360. GSC Game World joined with Microsoft and got their licenses to make games on the Xbox 360. This happened November of last year, so we should be hearing about a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game for Xbox 360 sometime in 2009.

After playing this game i thought that COD 4 was crap and Its not, but you can play it once and then you know all of it. I don't think a anti-radiation suit will be really necesary,but you should really buy some iodine-tablets(it combats radiation efects)much like the ones in the game, and what you should really put your hands on is a geiger counter it will be really handy as you can take readings on the radiation level's and thus avoid radiated places or things.Let me tell you that there really is a bus that makes a trip to Chernobyl NPP and Pripyat it's speclly intended for this purpose,sort of like a tour.

Your question was maybe for stalkerportal but not sure so i answer too...My specs you see under your last post. Here is some settings what i use: 1440 x 900 resolution, full dynamic lights, sun shadows ON and almost all other setups are medium/high...with these setups my average frame rates are about 50

Im pretty happy how smoothly this game works on my "not so new" computer...i can even use high-settings and FPS still stays about ~50 :) So this game-engine is pretty well optimized. My specs are AMD Athlon +4400 dual core, GeForce 7900GTO/512mb, 2GB DDR2/533, WinXP SP3...Just wanted to tell this if someone are not sure can your computer handle this.
